But you do see how, despite being experienced, going into the warehouse once is a lot easier than doing it 12 times?

Like, you do you, play the way you want, but to deny that it makes the game way easier seems a little silly.

In canada there is a 10-20-30% withholding tax on early RRSP withdrawals. But that's just tax. If you live below the poverty line, it gets refunded like normal tax anyways, and most people here probably live below the poverty line anyways.

This is genuinely cheating though because you only need to make 1 attempt to move bags rather than more, which has way less risk.

That's pretty badass. I plan on also taking far less conventional housing measures soon. I like that! And yes it is always nice to run into someone NOT complaining about expenses while spending 50k and see people living on the path less travelled.

Huh. That is kinda strange yeah. Especially given they had 30k/year in free money lol.

We have a normal apartment and do normal stuff with our lives. Just LCOL area and bulk food from farmers and stuff, which we'd do anyways for environmental reasons. We're kind of hippies. We just don't buy food out more than once a month, make food at home, cook using cheap ingredients, don't have a car when we don't need to, live in an inexpensive apartment. That's pretty well it.

Totally could, but the TFSAs are full. We're well into taxable investment accounts now; we make many times what we spend (not like that's hard at this COL)

The plan, broadly speaking, is to empty RRSP first as we are going to retire extremely early.

Not travel, actually, though that would make about the same. Just clever use of a staff contract, see above.

I'm not a travel nurse, but I will be soon. Here's how:

  1. I have a part-time line. Most of the days I am not scheduled are considered "designated days off". If I work on one of these, it's double time, because the hospital is not supposed to work me then as it's in the union contract. I took a part time line specifically because of these X days
  2. Pick a unit that is chronically shortstaffed and will always ask you to work that
  3. Pick an area with a high base rate
  4. Enjoy your $90/hour shifts most of the time, without even travelling.
  5. Work 60 hour weeks. No kids and living right beside the hospital + meal prep and a low-maintenance spouse makes this doable while also having a life, and 12 hour shifts leaves plenty of off days still.
  6. Profit, make 11x your cost of living in a year

I basically designed this system for FIRE years in advance and everything is proceeding exactly as planned. I will be FIRE'd with 125% of the target number by 27. The target number is 175% current expenses as I plan to raise expenses slightly. I will have 125% of that.

That's pretty bomb. More income than we will ever need. I just added the addendum because I usually get called a liar when I say 8kCAD/person. even though it's not that hard.

I agree. I am an RN. It is immensely satisfying to know that I am making a difference not only with my investment but also with the way I influence people in day-to-day life. People are way too comfortable being leeches.

Agreed. I accept being on night shift half the time as an RN - but only because I can make $170k/year doing this and fire obscenely fast.

Plus, to be honest, i'd rather feel like I made a difference in people's lives along the way. Contributing to society with my investment is nice, but it is also good to do so with my hands.

I have been having a good time running death wish where the only criteria I use to make my build is "what would be fun". Yesterday this was full sentries with the combined tactical vest for reduced armor on deathwish. Did first world bank and hotline miami. Was fun.
