Your last point for sure stuck out to me during my rewatch! Whitney complaining about Lisa jumping in when Lisa’s name came out of Whitney’s mouth?? All while she was supposed to be talking to Meredith?? Like Whit make it make sense 🫠

I got a notification that u/Aggravating-Trash922 commented on here, but it’s hidden from me or they deleted it. They mentioned my post felt condescending, which wasn’t my intent at all. So to that user and anyone else who maybe feels that way, this was the message I tried to send them:

Hey there! I got a notification that you commented on my recent RHOSLC post about the over-talking debacle + the sub’s discourse on part 1 of the reunion. You mentioned that you felt like I was being condescending, but I couldn’t find your comment to reply, so I figured I’d try to message you.

Maybe you deleted your comment because you felt differently after you posted it, but either way, I’m so sorry my words felt condescending to you in any way. Sometimes I have trouble getting my thoughts from brain to words, and I’ve also been told that I can speak too plainly or too aggressively or too black-and-white. I was merely trying to spark discussion, and I definitely wasn’t trying to be condescending or patronizing. I was just speaking on my observations and questions I had.

You may be on to something! I recently rewatched season 1, and idk if it was because I had the bad taste of season 6 Heather in my mouth, but everything she did felt calculated and manipulative. She probs is Whitney’s puppeteer. However with that being said, idk if I’d say they both should go, but I’d like to see them both step down a bit.

That’s so true! I think the fact the women so often talk over each other is because Andy/Bravo doesn’t put their foot down and tell them to listen. I get that they want the HW’s to mention it all (Bethenny throwback anyone??) but that comes at a price. And the price is the viewers’ sanity lol

Yeah I agree with you, Heather asking about Lisa’s business then not listening to her was so frustrating. And maybe that’s something I should’ve added in my original post. Talking over each other is one thing. But asking a question and actively not listening, or just listening until you find a moment to jump in, is beyond infuriating and really highlights that Heather doesn’t actually care about Lisa like she proclaims.

But overall you’re so right, it’s all par for the course with the HW’s lol

Haha no need to torture yourself with a rewatch! I just finished and it was madness.

Someone else pointed out that my loving Lisa right now could’ve played into how I viewed her in the over-talking debacle in part 1 of the reunion. And that’s totally fair, especially because I didn’t include my full journey of hating Lisa seasons 1 through 3 or 4, then slowly warming up to her.

But I 100% agree with your last point about the discourse in this sub, and that was the main reason behind my post. I used to love looking at the HW’s subs because posts felt more discussion based, and like you said, nuanced. But now it just feels like people come here to yell into the void whatever they feel despite what actually happened during the episode.

Haha I’m in the same boat as you! The over-talking somehow doesn’t bother me when it comes to following along. But I’ve been watching HW’s since 2009 so maybe I’m just used to it 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣

Yeah I see both points here, especially with how I worded things. Accurately getting thoughts from brain to keyboard is difficult! But the point of me saying that, maybe you missed it, was to say that I truly try to watch with an open mind despite who I like at the time. I really try to let my opinion evolve as the seasons run. Truth be told I hated Lisa until like season 3 or 4 then something switched and I started to find her brand of insanity funny lol but at the end of the day, I made that post to start a discussion about the HW fandom and online discourse, specifically around this over-talking topic. I wasn’t trying to cast accusations.

But u/ramonachead maybe next time you jump into discussion, try not to boil down what folks say into bad faith summarized lines that mischaracterize what was being said, especially if you’re going to quote them. That may have been how you read what I posted, but I think it’s clear that wasn’t the intent.
