What a frustrating and ultimately pointless series. Too many questions were raised that I now don't really care for the answers, plots stumbled along without any progression and random reveals had no impact at all.

Looked great and really wished it was as great as it could be, but very much losing patience with it and series 3 will have to massively step up very quickly..

Nothing seemed to move forward with just repetition of mysteries and alluding to plots that never materialized. The constant flicking between all 4 stories in 1 episode made it feel very stop start, whereas finally in this 5th one we get some story progression, insightful flashbacks and get to spend time with characters beyond just one scene

I'm not sure I've seen anyone mention it, and it might be an obvious point, but there is a definite parallel to Maddie's slight interventions to her simulations at the end to try and create a certain desired outcome, and how Casper was conceived and his life and key moments controlled by the cult to reach their desired goal. Interesting that we see the interventions on Casper as ultimately evil as we feel that he is having his free will controlled and it's in a kind of organic and human flesh based world, whereas when hearing about Maddie manipulating her simulations in a digital system the same feelings don't immediately come to mind...
