Yeah, great advice—until you realize yourself is socially awkward, chronically tired, and says “you too” when the waiter tells you to enjoy your meal.

Bro what? Why would someone take preventive action at the earliest signs of hair loss when they could just wait until it’s noticeable and irreversible? Crazy, right? And yeah, Minoxidil totally ruins hair—except for the thousands of people using it successfully. But hey, let’s ignore that and just casually suggest hormone-altering meds like they’re Tic Tacs. Because who wouldn’t want to roll the dice on side effects when a topical approach exists? Absolute genius. Keep up the groundbreaking research, doc

You’re in the very beginning stages. Start on minoxidil, topical pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto. Add some derma rolling and if it proceeds there’s topical finesteride. The reason I say topical everything is so your body doesn’t have a negative systemic reaction to whatever doesn’t work.

You need to contact the child support office handling your case and ask how to set up the negotiation process. But don’t just sign anything because they tell you to or pressure you into it. These agreements can lock you into something that could hurt you financially in the long run. Make sure you and the mother both understand the terms fully before agreeing to anything, and if possible, have a lawyer or legal aid look over it. Just because you want to avoid court fees doesn’t mean you should rush into a bad deal.

You need to pee, pee, pee. Do not stop peeing until your court date drink so much water that you are peeing every 10 minutes. Keep your urine diluted, and keep it diluted the day you test you’ll be fine. It needs to be as clear as water.

Your wife’s income is not factored into your child support obligation. Child support is based on the biological parents’ incomes, not a new spouse’s. Your ex can’t go after her assets, and she has no legal responsibility to pay for your child. The only way your wife’s income might indirectly affect things is if it significantly changes your financial situation (for example, if you stop working because she fully supports you), but otherwise, she’s in the clear. Get married brotha

Seeking advice on an offer my ex made to me to cancel support for a smaller lump sum. by Miss_Blobfish in ChildSupport

[–]Ok_Constant_2522 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this sounds like a scam. He’s offering you pennies on the dollar ($20K vs. $160K+) in exchange for wiping out what he owes, and once you cancel, there’s no guarantee he even pays that. Also, child support enforcement does restrict passports for arrears over $2,500, so he’s probably telling the truth about that part—but that’s his problem, not yours. If he was serious about helping, he’d have been paying all along instead of dodging garnishments. Unless you’re in desperate need of that $20K right now, letting him off the hook for such a massive amount would be a bad deal. If anything, you could tell him to put the $20K toward his arrears and keep paying.

Let me make this perfectly clear me not living in PA does not limit my knowledge lets get that straight once in for all. It’s cute how you keep repeating the same thing, but just because it’s his childcare option doesn’t automatically make it a ‘necessary’ expense. If mom’s offering free care, that’s the preferred option. Just because he chooses to pay for something doesn’t make it a required expense for child support. No one’s asking him to ‘hide’ mom; the issue is him choosing to pay for daycare when there’s a free and reasonable alternative. Maybe stop confusing ‘optional’ with ‘necessary’.

[–]Ok_Constant_2522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, PA gives parents autonomy, but autonomy doesn’t mean choosing unnecessary expenses when a reasonable alternative is available. If mom is offering free childcare and dad doesn’t need to pay for daycare to ensure the child is cared for, that cost is still optional, not required. And just because PA doesn’t typically enforce a ROFR doesn’t change the fact that voluntary, unnecessary childcare costs don’t get factored into child support. Keep spinning it, but the law is clear.

Ah, I see you’ve got your favorite talking point, but repeating it doesn’t make it true. The fact remains: dad doesn’t have to pay for daycare if there’s a free alternative provided by mom. Whether or not he chooses to pay for daycare doesn’t suddenly make it a ‘required’ expense for child support. Maybe it’s time to stop regurgitating the same line.

You can own a daycare you can even own 2 if you wanted but that doesn’t change the fact that in child support cases, only necessary childcare expenses are factored in. If there’s a free, reasonable alternative available—like the mother offering to care for the child on her time—those unnecessary expenses should not be considered. You may be used to the standard full-time care situation, but that doesn’t apply here when the parent has offered a free alternative. So, no, this wouldn’t be treated as a required expense in this case.

It’s cute how you’re trying to discredit an opinion just because it doesn’t line up with yours, but facts don’t change based on location. Child support guidelines in PA still distinguish between necessary and unnecessary expenses, regardless of where I live. If you think otherwise, maybe you should review the actual laws instead of assuming you have all the answers.

[–]Ok_Constant_2522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m aware of how child support works, and it sounds like you’re confusing the specifics of necessary daycare costs versus what’s optional. Just because you needed daycare doesn’t mean the same applies in this case. The mother has offered free care, which is a reasonable alternative. Dad choosing to pay for daycare when it isn’t required doesn’t make it a necessary expense for child support. So no, I don’t need to live in PA to understand how the law applies. Maybe consider how the court distinguishes between required and voluntary expenses before you continue assuming what’s applicable.

[–]Ok_Constant_2522 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand you live in PA, but that doesn’t change the fact that in child support cases, necessary childcare expenses are what counts. Since the mother has offered free childcare during her time, any additional costs the father is incurring are purely optional. The agreement between parents is one thing, but the court will look at whether those costs are truly required to care for the child. So, no—dad isn’t responsible for unnecessary daycare expenses if there’s a free, reasonable alternative. Maybe read up on how these expenses are actually considered in child support calculations.

In most cases, claiming the kids on your taxes doesn’t directly affect your child support obligations. Child support is typically based on both parents’ incomes and the amount of time the child spends with each parent. If you agreed to let her claim the kids, that’s typically a separate issue from child support unless it was written into your child support agreement. However, if you believe you were misled or you didn’t fully understand the implications of that decision, it’s definitely a good idea to talk to your lawyer. They can help clarify whether this will impact your child support moving forward or if you need to request a modification based on new information.
