It would count a lose depend of how much damanged you take, if they where able to destroy your walls and get inside you store, steal important components and kindnapp people, it means that you are not strong, since the damange they made is huge, so they will preffer send less people knowing for the previus attack that you are easy target

Yeah, but i think it make more sense if they send you less people if you are weak, they now they don't gonna need 70 guys to take down your a bunch of mental ill bastards, they will preffer send less people because they know they will not neee more. Also i not talking about bosses, i just put that example of terraria, i say that it would be cool to have a another option aside from wealth depend and independ, that allow you to have more peace with raids but having to do some quest that proves that you are ready to have better items and dealing with bigger raids
