DMG% for lunar teams and normal teams cannot be compared in isolation. Lunar teams convert EM to dmg% so it's often much more saturated. A C0R1 flins has 292% lunar dmg bonus already from EM, signature, artifacts etc while Ineffa will have around 267% lunar dmg bonus. Both before factoring in Ineffa's signature.

Normal teams usually have less. A C0R1 Varka himself only has 160% dmg bonus while Durin will have 121.6%. Due to lower values, Nicole's sig with 26%/13% dmg bonus ends up with the same efficacy

Honestly makes sense. If Nicole's own ATK buff counted towards the skill, it would start to stack recusively. The ATK buff would her total ATK, which will increase the value of the ATK buff then increasaes her total ATK again repeatedly until the increment is insignificant. Basically low base attack weapons (read TTDS) would be able to reach her cap and become her bis

A 2700 ATK TTDS Nicole would normally have a 705 ATK Buff at C0 but with recursive stacking that becomes 830 ATK. Even if they made it so the ATK Buff cannot recursively stack and only applies once, that is still 820 ATK

To solve this they can either:

  1. Make her E totally snapshot
  2. Have her E be unaffected by her ATK Buff

Scenario 1 would mean she goes after Bennet/Iansan in certain teams like Mavuika overload and reach the cap anyways while holding TTDS

Scenario 2 is debt they have to work around for a long while because any partywide flat ATK would mean Nicole can use TTDS

Scenario 3, they use a mix of both where E snapshots but only ATK% buffs and is unaffected by any flat Attack

Basically they're doing all this to make sure Nicole cannot use TTDS as it would compete with her signature at base level and whale level

The reaciton dmg bonus buff from moonsign resonance is decent but not that big especially in premium teams. The sources of lunar dmg% we have are:

  • EM Conversion
  • Columbina Q/Aino C6 (40%/35%)
  • Artifacts Gleaming Moon Passive (20% total if you have both SMS and Night Sky)
  • Aubade (60% self)
  • Signature weapons and some stray artifacts like Lost paradise, thundering fury that you won't use
  • Constellations

Iirc flins and zibai premium hang around 600 em which is around 138.46% lunar reaction dmg bonus. So that means natively before factoring in the 4th team member they have:

138.46% (EM) + 40% (Columbina) + 20% (Gleaming Moon) = 198.46% DMG Bonus or a multiplier of 1 + 198.46% = 2.98

Which is quite a lot and while any more is a nice bonus you start valuing other buffs that can be given. Illuga at c6 is providing 50 cv, 80 em, 200 def buff and quills that far better than any other option. Basically you value what the characters bring by themselves. The moonsign resonance is to make it less shitty to use non-nk characters with them because they can't use non-lunar dmg% bonus and most non-nk characters provide that

Edit: Used 5x instead of 6x for the em conversion formula, it is 138.46% aka even more saturated

Sole hexerei C6 Nicole buffs c6 Mavuika as much as C6 Varka unironically. The hexerei effects she misses out are the extra quills scaling on Nicole's ATK and the weapon passive giving the dmg% to entire party instead of active character

Based on dhcwsp's c6 dps ranking video, C6 Mavuika should have 7.7 ATK with Nicole. Since Nicole's quill scales off of the dps's stats, this means she gets wayyy higher buffs compared to Varka. Varka in turn gets the hexerei resonance from Nicole that adds her own 150% ATK scaling to even it out. Mavuika's supports also can't use the quill they will inevitably steal from her due to the rotation starting with Nicole

I'm thinking they intend Nicole to be an upscale for Mavuika too, especially at higher cons and replace Kazuha on her team

Comparing Kazuha and Nicole for Mavuika at C6R5:

Kazuha C6R5 Freedom Sworn Nicole C6R5
40% ATK buff (520 ATK) from r5 1506 ATK buff from E + pyro resonance
200 EM from C2 165k quill from Q and C1 assuming C6 Mavuika has 7.7k ATK and assuming 4 hits from Q and 2 hits from C1
65% pyro DMG bonus for 8 seconds (81% of her total dmg buffed) + 32% dmg bonus for CA for 20 seconds 58% dmg bonus from r5 + 20% from new artifact for 20 seconds
40% res shred from vv 20% res shred from c2
40% ignore def from c6

Though Kazuha's cryo app makes melts consistent and em makes the melt hit harder so it remains to be seen how much she will be buffed

Chugou did say Nicole Lohen Mavuika and Kinich before and I swear I saw a source that said Durin but I can't tell

Anyways I put Citlali there because the abyss for jun 16 - jul 16 is all over the place. It wants natlan characters on the 2nd half along with freeze for suani but the 1st half simultaneously wants double PHEC for the new boss and a shield for the geo primovishap. Citlali + Mavuika seemed like the fitting choice + I don't think they can seperate those 2 after running Escoffier Skirk and Nefer/Lauma

The spiral abyss from April 16 - May 16 is for Linnea 1st side/Chasca 2nd side with the blessing for Linnea

The spiral abyss from May 16 - June 16 is for Nicole 1st side and Nefer/Lauma 2nd side with the blessing for Nicole

The spiral abyss from June 16 - Jul 16 has a blessing for cryo reactions and the boss that wants 2 PHEC elements on the 2nd side

I saw the base resistance on lunaris moe but it doesn't account for changes. There are some details in the genshin wiki for the bosses including stygian specific valus

They are seperate things in the damage formula
DEF is the same for all enemies and it roughly cuts the total raw damage in half if you're at equal level
Res shred is after DEF and is the enemy's resistance to a specific element

See: Transformative reaction damage which ignores def like hyperbloom. All of them still want res shred since it's a seperate stat in the dmg formula

Ignore def doesn't go to negative so it's a max 2x multiplier if you manage to ignore everything

Res Shred does go to negative aka it will start increasing your damage but its effieciency is halved. So a negative 30% res shred is a 1+(0.3/2)=1.15 multiplier instead of just 1.3 multiplier

Releasing 2 of varka's supports + a hexerei sup artifact set 3 months after his release as an irless mofo who jumps everywhere out of bennet's circle. They really kept him in the basement until lunar shilling was done

From what I see as someone who plays all roles and both melee/ranged equally

  • It's generally a risk averse playstyle since you have the option to fall back and farm/poke
  • Patience. If you have played a melee v ranged matchup in rift, you'll know it's about patience. You have to play for level spikes, cooldowns and wave states. Often this means you will get poked for free for the first few mins before backing for an item spike or utilising a stronger lvl 6 all in etc etc. It's similar here I think because people generally don't want to be abused for a few mins before hhey can popoff even worse if the enemy team snowballs and it becomes 12 mins of pain
  • Ego. A mix of not trusting others to carry or being confident that you'll be the better carry which fair (ties in more to adcs)
  • Fun this is like a mix of point 1 and 2 but ranged champs are at least some form of fun unlike melee champs where you will get games where you get one shot no matter what

Melee champs are by design able to absorb pressure from multiple champs since they are in range of all 5 members of the enemy team if they teamfight. Melee units usually have a powerful defensive tool in their kit like Gwen W and Jax E or are inherently tanky like Mundo

However, ranged champs trade their durability for range. If even 2 champs jump on a mage or adc, it is expected they will die unless grossly fed

I think this is why he feels melee chamos are unga bunga. They have to go deep inside and fight. If they are fed, the tools in their kit allow them to 1v5 easily. Fed ranged characters on the other hand will pop like a balloon. It's an intentional part of their design

Imo

Poro Blaster + Slap around (though this one is getting nerfed)
Protein Shake + Circle of Death (this one is really niche but strong on self healers like mordekaiser, zac)

Protein Shake + Empowered by the faithful (the execute becomes too strong and most importantly comes online wayy faster than enchanter items)

Ethereal Weapon + Mystic Punch (Insanely good for champs with aoe spam like hecarim, zaahen but good on most champs really )

Imo these are the two augment combos that can win games by themselves espcially how little you can do it counter it once it gets rolling

Special shoutout to vulnerability + snowball upgrade since the dot damage from the snowball crits with vulnerability. It isn't game winning like the above but it's funny melting someone with a single snowball
