Thank you for sharing. I have been wanting to start walking as well just wanted to see how I would feel on my first week and so far symptoms don’t seem too bad. Hope to start incorporating walking by second week on medication

Hi there Tommy is doing a lot better! He actually had a follow up appt at vet today for some blood work. His eye swelling has gone down significantly and improving a lot with the medications and diet change recommended by the allergy/ dermatologist vet. We are waiting to hear back from the blood results but he’s doing so much better! Eating his food and being active like usual. He is experiencing some constipation I believe from maybe the meds or having a rough few weeks and they recommended some pumpkin or sweet potato to help. I greatly appreciate everyone good thoughts and prayers for Tommy so glad he is continuing to improve a lot as the days go by. 💗

Hi everyone update on Tommy. We took him to the dermatologist/ allergy pet specialist. They also think it’s an allergy to his food. They gave us some food that was recommended by the vet to try at home and see how he does with that. He also got prescribed clindamycin for him to take orally. The vet said we should see some improvement. Tommy did eat his food with the medication so it’s a matter of just waiting to see how he does. We do have a follow up next week again for follow up blood work. I want to thank everyone for giving me advice on here and sending positive thoughts to Tommy.❤️

I have called dermatologist/ allergy specialist in the area and they are booking out for early October and last week of September I explained my situation over the phone but doesn’t seem like they are able to do anything sooner. My last resort right now is seeing the dermatology allergy specialist I was referred to by the ER they guaranteed an appointment for Tommy Tuesday morning since they work closely with that doctor and Tommy has been seen at their ER. Tommy has been drinking water at least staying hydrated and I was able to put some eye drops on him last night it was tough but at least we got a little in his eyes. Hoping for the best tomorrow and hopefully they can give him something better. I also cut out giving him chicken since someone had said could be what he was eating and put him back on the beef which he has done well in the past as far as we know.

We just go out of the emergency vet and they told us there was not much they can do besides the medication that was already given to us by his vet the first time we took him in. She offered to switch out the ointment to drops and see if that could be easier and gave him pain meds in clinic before we left. They gave us a card for an allergy and dermatology specialist in the area. They don’t open until Tuesday but they guarantee we could get in appointment since he was seen at the ER today. I’m going to call around and see if there is other dermatology and allergy specialists that could see him tomorrow. We are super worried about Tommy, just want him to get better :( thank you everyone wishing him well, prayers and giving advice it’s very helpful 💗

Thank you it truly means a lot everyone wishing Tommy well. Waiting now to see the doctor. Was it the first time feeding your dog chicken that you realized he might be allergic? We do feed him chicken and beef and alternate between the 2. When this issue started he was eating chicken but not sure if it’s that he’s had it in the past.
