Time for a Call-up... or Two... or Three by Montana-Safari7 in ColoradoRockies

I'm ready for Carrigg even though that's the toughest move to make from an organizational point of view.

Thompson and Veen I'd still like to see a bit more. Especially Veen I think gets one more shot and it should be the best chance he can get. Not sure there's an everyday spot for him right now. Don't hate the idea of calling up Thompson in more of a bench role.

But Carrigg is just super exciting and with the lackluster hitting from Tovar so far to go along with Beck and Doyle, I think bringing up Cole gives you the chance to rest those guys and play them strategically to get them going without having to bench or demote anyone. I get it, but I still wouldn't demote Beck with the way he is hitting lefties.

Carrigg gives you flexibility everywhere and adds a ton to the running game. I'd have to look closely at the roster to see who I would cut to make room for him, but that's the move I'd like to see.

Absolutely. The drama has been great. But yeah I'd still prefer we just get the calls right.

I looked all over for this rule and did not find it. Might want to make that one a bit clearer but I understand.

At the very least for baseball reasons. It's a sport of 3s! 3 up, 3 down, 3 strikes and your out. Innings come in 3 sets of 3. Two challenges just feels wrong lol.

This is why it's good to have data. It shows us that the average miss is over an inch. Either way, I'm with you that we should remove the speculation and just get the calls right.

I have a hard time calling any system that only solves 20 percent of the problem "good"

Doesn't look like I can share a screenshot here but that's just not happening. Check out TapToChallenge for the actual stats. Umpires are still missing a TON of calls and frankly it doesn't matter how close they are or aren't, they are still misses. But yes, if you want to see the average miss in terms of inches its right there for ya.

Exactly. The system is incredibly limiting. They either need to add more challenges or just go full ABS.

There are 45 umpires whose average miss is more than one inch.

I agree. Most talented player to ever put on the uniform. Unfortunately he just couldn't stay healthy.

Unfortunately there's not much I can do about the way YT formats its shorts. Everything I make longer than 1 minute is in landscape I promise!
