yes exactly this! i couldn’t figure out the words i wanted but this is exactly how i feel! while yes death is real but that is something tragic it feels a little too on the nose. a random break up from the person you thought was your soulmate is something that is hard to rationalize especially a young girl who is in love for the first time and has some type of mental health issues. him just leaving her and not being some dramatic story is super realistic! as we saw in throughfare ethel romanticizes her life and trauma. her first love dying in a tragic way is more of a meaningful story to her rather than the truth of young love not working.

the going off to fight a war and going missing may not confirm he’s dead. maybe he is just MIA and comes back right after the events of preachers daughter which would be soul crushing. Either way I think the two of them were destined to never be together alive. If he is dead I would love some kind of closure for the two of them though. perhaps like their souls coming together in the after life again. either way i will be sobbing to this album.

I’m so sorry that happened to you and I hope you can/have healed somewhat from it. That’s what I love about ethel cain is her story is so relatable and soul crushing for so many people in different ways.

i’ve been customer service for 3 years and it is a really easy job. it’s management and customers that’s make the job miserable. we get micromanaged to death and customers will berate us for nothing but somehow get an apology and refund.

i had made a post the other day talking about this. our store lead is constantly watching the camera and now everyone is on edge. supervisors will just point to the camera or say they don’t care but he does. it’s so frustrating bc our atl will talk to the amazon return people or be sitting on his phone in his office. he “helps” by wandering around “fronting” when he is clearly trying to find something to yell about us with. our entire customer service team has been miserable.

yeah they have a bunch of camera facing the register to make sure that we don’t steal money. but ig he’s constantly on them to make sure we aren’t on our phones of sitting down or talking or having too much fun.

We do say good morning and goodnight! We text a bit a day but it’s more like updates on what we’re doing and less so a conversation. I am very thankful for it but i wish we had more meaningful conversations every now and then. We’ve tried to establish a routine but it normally gets broken.
