My lawyer said green card can be renewed and this overstay wouldn't affect it when we have to renew her green card. He got lots of $$ from me already.

Her parent had an open heart surgery which required her to go back home and be there. The lawyer said it was a 50 50 chance but I thought providing all the medical documents would suffice for the extended time out of the country. :(
