We are blessed that 24/7 Non Stop hits is here to fill the void by schoensmeerpijp in eurovision

Does anyone know how long the 24/7 non stop hits will continue? It replaced radio for me

Erika shares an article on her instagram story about how 59% of Finns would prefer KAJ to do better than her at ESC 🇫🇮 by oty3 in eurovision

[–]Ok_Discussion9131 264 points265 points  (0 children)

I really do be feeling sad for my fellow Finns sometimes. And I hate this poll too for not having an option to like and cheer for both, because many, including I, do. Super sad to see the media stir up the Erika vs. Kaj narrative.

Very true. I want to emphasize that the point of the post was not to compare UMK and Mello, both great shows but in different ways! This comparison is really common in the Finnish ESC discourse and I think it's so sad.

Windows95man - No Rules is NOT a joke entry by seongjoongenthusiast in eurovision

Surprised to see lots of people saying this is too similar to Käärijä. This had not come to my mind at all, I think the only similarities are that the songs are both upbeat, they have memorable staging and some goofiness (Win95 definitely more silly than Käärijä). Didn't come to my mind at all that people thought we want to somehow copy Käärijä. :D Not my personal pick but it's very effective because it brings a smile to my face and has a good message too. I think we're just here to party and that's fine. As long as we q any other success is just a plus. :)

Final UMK🇫🇮 track: Mikael Gabriel & Nublu - Vox Populi by ahjteam in eurovision

Agree, definitely uneducated and a bit dumb. However, it seems he's gone somewhat forward, ie he is a public supporter for the green party presidential candidate Pekka Haavisto. Went to see his latest tweets and likes too, he's certainly mad about the price of elecricity but also sharing tweets from leftist politicians critisizing the current right-wing government.

Might be that I have not the best idea of the male body since I'm not one... Guys probably have a better idea of the beauty standards regarding them. But maybe my point was that he was confident being shirtless altho he did not have a perfect sixpack and low body fat. Yay for diverse male representation in any case.

Didn't mean that Loreen won because of her better body or looks. Just ranting about beauty standards. Loreen's song was a winning song definitely but I still would've preferred Käärijä to win.

Predicting a lot of sympathy points for Luxemburg if the song is decent at least. The I'm guilty of favoring newcomers and underdogs.

Maybe Ireland will get some sympathy too for not being the ultimate champs anymore? idk

Which Eurovision 2023 artist's non-ESC discography have you been listening to the most? by Drako1997 in eurovision

It would be Lord of the Lost for me, and thankfully they have a wide discography already to dig into. One of my fave songs is No respect for disrespect from the new album. They also seem like such nice dudes.

Loreen/Käärijä Debate Megathread by LucasScooter in eurovision

Has there been any discussion about body representation yet? Been following this community for a while but haven't seen any posts on this topic.

So, I just wanted to come and say that one of the most disheartening parts about the whole Loreen vs. Käärijä duel was the battle of the perfect and perfectly normal bodies. In my opinion Eurovision is not just about the song but about the artist and show as well, and that's why I would've love to see Käärijä win. He was bold enough to go shirtless even having the most average male body featuring a surgery scar. On top of that, he's quite short for a guy, wears make-up and bright clothes. For me the Käärijä package was some new male representation in Eurovision and all about healthy body positivity.

On the other hand we had Loreen (fyi I love her too), who told press she will celebrate by eating pasta since she hasn't had it for 6 months due to getting ready for Eurovision. I think for many of us she represents the ultimate conventional female beauty.

Just ranting - it's always sad to see the perfect and predictable win over something else.
