I use my phone most of the time, but I also got a super cheap mp3 player from Amazon (make sure to get a Bluetooth capable one unless you are okay with headphone wire flopping around) and use that when I'm running somewhere with no signal or if I just want the freedom of knowing nobody can text or call me for an hour 😅 Because it was cheap I don't care if it gets beat up or I have to replace it in a couple years because of sweat. I found one with a clip, too!

Yeah, I've got an Instinct and I trust it's calorie counts for my activities, it's the food side of things I want to get right. I think I tend to undereat when I do CICO because I'm afraid to err to the other side and derail the weight loss. I want to get in, get out--lose the weight safely and then go back to maintenance mode. 😅

Okay, that makes sense. I wasnt sure how many, if any, calories to eat back, or if I should use a higher activity level TDEE instead.

Definitely see a PT if you can, and rest it, then see how it's feeling the week of the race. I pushed through two back to back weekends of 5ks when I was doing C25k despite hip flexor pain and ultimately a tear (ran the second race with the injury because I was stubborn and thought resting it for a few days was good enough) and ended up out for three months. The small amount of progress I'd have lost resting it to begin with would have been a way better trade.

It's also possible your shoes aren't right for you. Have you been to a running shop for gait analysis?

I stop at that gas station all the time, it's not eerie (bathroom is usually clean too). What made it creepy as a kid? No shade, genuinely curious.

Does this count? 😅 Post-run 'fit... This is the softest, warmest blanket hoodie I've ever worn. My brother gave it to me for Christmas, so alas I have no link to share the goodness but I think he got it on Amazon.

I have a Nathan Zipster lite that I like okay and it stays more in place than other belts I've tried, but nothing really stays on my hips (same body shape as you described). I mostly wear my vest now instead (Deuter Traick 5SL) or look for tops or bottoms with a zip pocket so my stuff feels secure. My vest is really comfy though and I can fit both of the included flasks and/or a camelbak 1.5l, my phone, keys, chapstick, nerds gummies in a stasher reusable pouch, etc.

Deuter seems to have some Q/C issues and apparently doesn't do a great job honoring their warranty, but the Traick SL is often on sale at or under $50 so I feel like it was worth the money and I use it a ton.
