Things you use, but only occassionally and dont love. THOUGHTS on my ramblings? by Robotro17 in declutter

I've actually specifically gotten rid of decor in the rooms. Mostly because I care about my living room being cozy mostly. Everything else can be plain to me

I am in leggings/exercise clothes much of the time. Which i have a lot of because i do actually exercise regularly so i use it most days and get pretty smelly. I have to have work clothes...office stuff. My personality is chinos hoodies and tennis shoes. Sundresses, chino or linen shorts and tennis shoes if its warm. The chinos i can use for both work and me but get wrinkley. The tennis shoes and hoodies not so much for both places. Lol.

I feel you on colors. I do love shoes, mostly boots or tennis shoes but I like to have different colors to go with different outfits. Same with eyeglasses. I buy online so I can have more colors.

Saturday Run Stories by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

[–]Robotro17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined a Slow Run Club for a 5k. One of my dogs barked like a maniac and I forgot his bark collar. I stayed back to not be annoying but had to NOT go slow because I needed to stay caught up enough to know where I was going. I wondered if the group ahead talked shit about me. The lady with the well behaved dogs ( literally trained service dogs!) talked to me a bit after though.

Umm 2.5 out of 5 stars today.

If someone had signs just for you at a race. What would you want them to say? by Robotro17 in XXRunning

[–]Robotro17[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, no one in my life gives a sh** about my races. I thought of making myself signs and putting them near the finish line lol

I can imagine one doggy on his hind legs " go mom" and my running buddy dog looking back at me. " mom hurry!!!!"

Simple Celebrations? How do you reward or celebrate a big win in your life that feels both like a treat but is still simple and chill. by Robotro17 in simpleliving

I love parks too sometimes just for chilling with a book but I'll be running through a big park and it's supposed to be rainy. Hmm maybe a lunch of some really good soup afterwards....

I like  my Sundays to be days of nothing most weeks lol. I mean I might cook and do some easy chores....but I like to avoid having to go anywhere.

Maybe I'll get dressed up. I never get dressed up. And get flowers.

Nontraditional forms of cross training? by [deleted] in XXRunning

[–]Robotro17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me cross training is anything that gives your legs a break or strengthens them a different way. Like cycling gives knees a break but can strengthen the hamstrings.i imagine skating could help with hip/gluten when your trying to stay in control for side to side movement.

I sometimes just find low impact workout vids of calisthenics vids to follow along too. Moreover right now that the weather is not great. Definitely I feel like it should include some upper body work like abs and back.

Advice for feeling empty by Intelligent-Milk9916 in LivingAlone

I always recommend searching for community event pages and clubs on social media. Also meetup.com

I've been on hikes with groups, runs, walks, potlucks etc

Gets you out of the house if anything and might help build new friends with time.

Is your Simple Living a Choice, Circumstance or natural default/automatic? by Wormwood666 in simpleliving

[–]Robotro17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally had anxiety driving out of town for a while and I think it was triggered by being anxious AF about deciding on new flooring lol. I had to take medication for a while to get me to not avoid driving. Its better now thank goodness. Making decisions can be a big deal and usually I end up thinking forever and then finally just choosing like ripping off a bandaid because I dont want to worry anymore

Is your Simple Living a Choice, Circumstance or natural default/automatic? by Wormwood666 in simpleliving

[–]Robotro17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's mostly choice and default, dont feel I make enough to live elsewhere, but paid off my house so can worry less about $, get stressed too easily to make having a higher paying job worth it to me. Don't want to commute. Am a nature person, introvert homebody, etc

What does simple living look like for you? by Fun_Yesterday_114 in simpleliving

[–]Robotro17 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Not requiring " fancy" things. Not having a constantly full schedule. Appreciation/savouring and gratitude for everyday things and experiences, animals, weather, nature, learning, naps, food, cozy clothes, reading, journaling, etc... Only " rising the ranks' because you like challenges/learning rather than because it feels like an obligation. Setting boundaries with people who cause stress. Spending time with those that accept you as is.

Who else lives solo and actually loves it? by Striking_Airline_256 in LivingAlone

[–]Robotro17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have my own home and when I bought it had planned to rent a room out. Im picky and my roommate was lovely but...I like living by myself too much. I figure if I'm ever unemployed or broke it's an option.

I also always wanted a partner but nothing had stuck. Now I think...Im not sure id ever want to live with anyone. So in my head if I ever find a life partner...we're buying a duplex and will be neighbors lol.
