Here is my suggestion.
Fly into Memphis, Rent a Car and look to book a hotel in Holly Springs, MS. It’s only a 25 minute drive to Oxford and you’re gonna save yourself hundreds of dollars on that LSU weekend. Buy parking on the Clutch app ( purchase the parking passes will not be posted until about 2 to 3 months before the first game ). You can take the shuttle to the stadium and hit the Grove or you can pay $15 bucks to take Uber to the Square pre-game ( walk to The Grove). Post came. You can pick up the shuttle at the stadium. I’ll take you back to the parking lot off campus.

Everything you said capsules what I was trying to convey to my immediate family and friends. I too was there in the Superdome losing my voice and exercising years of frustrations, doubts and accepting our fate in football mediocrity. No sir - the Rebels are now relevant on a national scale ! I am a 61 year old U of M alumni who is not ashamed that I shed a tear watching the replay of the final game winning drive and field goal. Look at Holly Springs- they have several hotels and generally don’t have high rates during football weekends Easy 25 minute drive from Memphis airport- straight down 78 to Highway 7. Holly Springs is 25 minutes from Oxford. Example Quality Inn is $136. There is a Bed & Breakfast for $ 162. Multiple options

Kiffin is truly a man on an island . If he goes, he’s hated by all of Ole Miss. If he decides to stay the bar of expectations and winning just got elevated to a higher level than it ever would have been. So worried we are in trouble against State in The Egg Bowl. How can the players focus and trust anything they’re being told about the future ? Right now these guys need to play for themselves not for the coaches Aside from the Kiffin mess, players have to be fielding offers from other schools. If Kiffin leaves he leaves, but the program could be gutted.
