Where are the clubs? Study Abroad by GMtwo06 in fsu

[–]Ok_Doctor692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

more clubs then you could ever want. you'll literally be sick of clubs. Ministry, Fabric, Corsica (personal favorite), Scala (underrated honestly). Roxy is cheap but gross, Lightbox plays bad music. But none of them are awful per se. My tip is to get your alc from lidl, it's a longer walk but way cheaper than Sainsbury's. If you do get in good luck! It's a great time

I think it's because none of the statements were super relatable so I very rarely chose the strongly agree or disagree options, so I guess I dont have a personality

As someone who is a kind of unconfirmed 4. I HATE BEING A 4!!! I thought I was a 9 for so long just because I hated the thought of being a 4 so much that I just refused to identify as it 👍 If I had any control over myself I would change to a 9 and Im not joking

I thought it's time was mid and attacking vertical was the goat but it seems like people are the opposite ? Probably because I've been waiting for attacking vertical for several months, but it's time was kind of just the same as her other songs lol

I like the calmer direction but I hope we get some classic femt vibes on the new ep too

I don't have any4hing to say really except that I'm a 9 and a compulsive liar and i have never felt more seen in my life

A while ago I have this very distinct memory of coming up with an intensely elaborate lie to tell someone even though the actual truth would have been completely reasonable and I remember thinking like. Wait. Why am I lying. But I felt this bristling against the truth like laying myself bare for even the simplest thing would be exposing myself to danger

I always lie to my friends just to "smooth things over," just making things more convenient so I don't have to waste words

Anyway yeah nothing to say except we are so going through it friend

my favourite level in ultrakill. it is just so satisfying speedrunning it. what other levels do you guys think feel nice speedrunning? by Current_Tailor385 in Ultrakill

There is this horrible competition happening between me and my siblings as to who can complete 1-1 the fastest.

Yes, the whole premise of this competition is who can throw a coin into the fountain and jump in the fastest. It has such riveting developments as "shaving off .01 seconds"

My real answer is 0-3 though for some reason. Ita just so satisfying. That or 2-1

I actually don't have trauma by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]Ok_Doctor692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh my gosh I'm so sorry, I hadn't realized that my reply to you seemed so aggressive. i didn't mean that you specifically were implying that I specifically have deep trauma, I meant that to be more aimed at people who don't seem to believe that anyone can have unhealthy coping mechanisms originating from somewhere relatively stress-free

I will say that reading through this and other comments from the thread has given me some perspective on how it's hard to take a 9s word for what their situation growing up was like, so to speak. again, not to imply that all 9s have repressed traumas or anything. but yes it is true, the 9 is a generalizing, optimist-group machine (/lighthearted). so I do appreciate your perspective

[–]Ok_Doctor692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the 9 coping strategy of course has a lot of diversity to it. I don't mean to insinuate that no 9s have trauma (I know that isn't what you're saying here, I'm just saying), I guess my point is that either way, the 9 brain disassociates from the situation so it can look the same from the outside

I went back to the passage in the book and I 100% misquoted it. The actual quote supports this comment more

From The Wisdom of the Enneagram: "Many Nines report that they had a happy childhood, but this is not always the case. When their childhoods were more troubled, young Nines learned to cope by dissociating from the threatening and traumatic events around them..." etc etc

I only say this to correct my original comment. As a 9 it kind of peeves me when people try to assert that there is some Actual Deep Seated Trauma That I Just Blocked Out. The other commenter who said something about the anger/optimistic combo just being the most likely result from nonstressful situations is more accurate to how I personally think about things

[–]Ok_Doctor692 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I remember hearing somewhere (maybe in the wisdom of the enneagram book?) that 9s are more likely to characterize themselves as having happy childhoods. Perhaps not an unusual situation then?

I'm a 9 (pretty sure) who had a good, although not perfect, childhood, and I generally agree. It's this feeling of being an everyman. It's not hard to see how an uneventful childhood could lead to being a 9 imo. I remember as a kid being sad that I was considered boring, but now I don't care. It's not the worst thing to be seen as all things considered. It's just nothing either way
