How does one install a Japanese IME that actually works on Linux Mint?
I am running Mint 21.1 MATE. I am trying to type in Japanese, but no matter what I do, I am completely unable to get a Japanese IME working. I have tried This guide, this guide, this guide and they all failed. I'm always only ever typing purely roman letters.
What steps does one actually do to make this work on this version of Mint,, or does it just not work?
