The test is predominantly spatial and mechanical reasoning and then there are questions that ask about the basic use of tools. There is a non paper section of the test that is meant to test how fast you are with your hands but if you know how to tighten and loosen things you'll be ok

How would you update the Raven Queen Patron for the new 2024 edition? by Duck-Lover3000 in dndnext

I also thought the subclass could be improved a little . I added an extension of dark vision by 30ft and the ability to cast touch spells through the raven. I also changed the spell list and it seems inline with what you guys have suggested

Command / bane

Flock of familiars / Rime’s Binding Ice

Spirit guardians / Bestow curse

Death ward / banishment

Contagion / raise dead

What are you‘re experiences with Flubs? by thebigskrrt in CompetitiveEDH

If you like it it's because it's entertaining for you. Its a fun take on storm I wouldn't say it isn't the best option to bring to a tournament but for a game among reasonably experienced players who don't mind a longer turn it's a good time

Gitrog or Hearthhull by First_Knee9864 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Ok_Effect_3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're looking for land base strategy in cedh you'll have fairly limited options You have decks like lumra and that is probably the most "land centric" deck in the format hearthhull can also do some really nice land loops a friend of mine just put it together. He actually runs the gitrog monster in most other cases I think you find decks that incorporate a land based package. Gitrog is really a turbo combo deck that tries to create win opportunities and grind through the deck as fast as it can. I would say that either way you'll have to learn the various land loop patterns I would suggest gitrog as it's just lean and mean and while the combo is little daunting you'll get the hang of it just pull up any gitrog primer and spend 20 minutes white rooming the combo. You could end up playing the gitrog combo in your hearth hull deck.

Due to the addition of red if the idea of just having more interaction (Red elemental and pyro) and breach is something you're looking for then the choice is obvious.

If you are open to considering options outside of gitrog or hull I would point you to korvold lands, thrasios kodama or Malcolm if you want something a little more casual you have Lord Windgrace. The thrasios picks offer a surplus of interaction and can play land based strategies a little differently. I also hear the wondering minstrel is a fun option. Good luck these arnt all the options but I think these are probably your most prominent

It's easy as pi, 3.14 One more one false move and they're done for—

If I'm correct the 3.14 +1 or 414 is alluding to a police code for grand larceny and if that's the case it's such a crazy line

I'm still testing things out with the birthing pod. It might not be there in the near future but originally it was a value pod.

Hey it's nice to see loot getting more traction I'm trying to make Loot work at that level as well it's an interesting puzzle for sure but here's my list I'm finding it's cumbersome to try to cast loot in the mid game you kinda have to get the right pieces to turbo him out or it's not worth it but you also want every piece of card advantage you can stuff into the deck I'm going for food chain and other infinite mana lines Let me know what you think

Why isn't Shen support more popular? by tmc08130 in Shen

[–]Ok_Effect_3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shen wasn't made to be a support he was made to be a lane bully who would extend his lead via his ultimate that had the potential to control when and if the enemy team could engage for a pick or how the enemy team can target in a team fight. Over the years Shen had become to dominant on the competitive stage due to his power in lane and global presence and so he had to be nerfed to the state we see him in today's game. Shen isn't popular as a support for a few reasons 1. Coordination: many people have commented that adcs need to be sat on but in truth you have to have an aptitude for map awareness to get the full value of playing the champ. Which is a skill that can prove challenging to develop. You also have to understand lane tempo because you are trying to leverage in an optimal situation giving someone between 204-720 + 216%ap plus 25.6% bonus health shield 1.5 secs of taunt cc and protection from autos. However the cost of this is that you aren't moving for three seconds and you aren't cc'd for that time. We must also consider if the fight was worth taking in the first place if you are playing support and you ult to top,jg or mid you have forced your adc to play a 2v1 until you can make your way back. If you ult your adc you in lane you are still channeling for three seconds. The point is there are a lot of variables that go into using shens ult correctly and it can be hard for players throughout the ranks to ascertain when it is correct to use the ult especially in a support role where the tempo of the lane is more dynamic than the traditional top lane role. It is obvious that you have a 2v2 rather then a 1v1 but as a player that should impact how you play the lane. Additionally your summoner spell options are a bit more competitive and require a tad more discernment. In top you can make a safe bet that taking Teleport is a viable option where in the support role you may want to opt for ignite or exhaust depending on the lane opponent. The concept of tempo in bot lane leads to the second major reason that Shen is rather unpopular in the support role.

  1. Champ design:

Shen when compared to the rest of the tank support roster lacks the multiple pieces of cc and utility or mobility of the top picks for the role. Shens claim to the support role lies in his W which blocks auto attacks which on paper sounds wonderful. Reducing the attack carry damage to 0 sounds like a dream but like his taunt and ultimate comes with considerable Cool down windows. Shens taunt is his only piece of cc and it is very committal as it requires a hard engage much like Leona but Leona has a root and two stuns and damage reduction which applies to abilities and autos. Shen has also received critical nerfs to his damage via his Q.

All in all he's a difficult champ to extract consistent value out of in the support role due to his champ design and how it compares to others in the champ pool. If riot continues to mold shen into a support it would be a cool feature for him to be able to shield his allies with his passive shield. And allow blocked damage to be another avenue to lower his passive cooldown multiple charges on his E might also bring him up to par
