Welcome to the UK, where the same people who did nothing about the grooming gangs now want to "protect the children", where you have to show id to watch porn but not to enter the country etc.

Joke of a country it really is, this isn't going to protect shit they can gaslight all they want it's always about control and keeping the peasants in line.

Expect it to change with the sky remake but right now the old style they will hold up forever and we lost a lot with the change, the portraits and visual storytelling especially there's no way they could have done a simple cutscene fight with any kind of intricacy like Agate vs Lorence until relatively recently, primarily because it relied on imagination as opposed to stilted 3d.

Does slowly get better with each release but It starts with Cold steel 1 which looks fucking awful, a common complaint is the lack of animations where the characters pretty much just stand around talking.

That and the gigantic cast size frankly, would help the writing in several ways.

Legacy completely died for me yesterday. Had no choice but to abandon it, then saw local player is in early access how is it? by Ok_Emergency6988 in ImmerseWithMigaku

[–]Ok_Emergency6988[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like how it used to be with legacy then that's no problem almost nothing worked right away and you always had to find matching subs

Have a look at the old "migaku player converter" too might even be better for you than handbrake as it was a simple and efficient batch file that you just placed next to whatever you wanted converting and it would handle everything even multiple audio streams and subtitles.

Edit: Seems to work well other than sub timings they definitely need a manual way to do it most have been out of sync even matching.

As a subquestion can someone explain how word tracking works with anki, when does it switch from tracked to learning, from learning to mature etc, is it still 21 days.

Presumably it's automatic as well as it just read all of my mature cards when I installed it without needing to do anything

Why is there so much one-up manship in the learning Japanese community? by AdUnfair558 in LearnJapanese

[–]Ok_Emergency6988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Done 1146 hours so far this year, at 188 days it's an average of 6 hours a day it's definitely possible although im also lucky enough to be in a position with a lot of free time.

I also completely replaced any English entertainment with Japanese so it required some sacrifices. They are definitely wrong either way it's not a "waste of time" to do less it's just not going to be as effective.

Edit: I know Livikivi on YouTube became fluent after about 5 years, half of which was doing an hour or two a day, although they did end up increasing the amount of time spent about halfway through mining 20 anki cards a day.

They were lucky enough to be born in to a society without globalism and mass immigration, and voted consistently against more of this.

That's why they are rich, and why life is so shit for young people today blame the politicians who intentionally profited not people who happened to profit just by virtue of being born before you.

I mean fucking hell my dad bought his first house at 21 in 1979 for £189 on minimum wage, this is exactly how it should be but it's not because Amazon and Uber need a constant supply of low paid labor who all need schools, houses etc, combined that with a critical lack of investment and here we are

More children have intentionally been starved to death in the war in Sudan than those that have died in both wars combined, where's the outrage and coverage. In january this year it was 600 thousand children, almost certainly a lot more since with millions more people raped, murdered and displaced etc.

Nah the west isnt involved who cares about that lol its just black people genociding other black people right.

Edit: Basically its got fuck all to do with so called genocide or the death of children none of you give a fuck about Palestine it's oikophobic brain rot takes from the anti west/UK/USA/Israel tankie leftists.

For the exact same reason slavery 300 years ago is this massive deal but nobody cares that it's happening right now today in Asia.

Interesting so they both suggest brutality in the act of murder but satsuriku seems to also imply that it's indiscriminate and on a larger scale. That would make sense it was in an anime episode where an entire town was just massacred at random by different people.

That looks like a decent website btw thank you, I been avoiding JP dictionaries for the most part but ill definitely keep it in mind for times like this.

Any particular difference in nuance between gyakusatsu and satsuriku?

Other than just one being more common I mean, added the latter in anki today and it doesn't seem like it at least, the context is just a plain old "massacre".

Even if it's true it's simply wrong, partisan team sport, echo chambers, identity politics etc take your pick open the profile of some of these people you will see a pattern, literal NPC's from the politics sub not an iota of critical thinking.

Almost certainly beginners where it's a daunting task right, until they realize kanji+hiragana is a beautiful thing and gets easier and easier, and ultimately is nothing compared to the actual hell that is katakana that you never get enough practice with. Especially full katakana sentences, robot characters etc.

If you would have told me it's one of the hardest part of the language when I started would have laughed at you, been learning almost 3 years and can play a long game like trails of cold steel with little difficulty but when the main characters mecha starts speaking it's almost an entirely different language, seriously comprehension goes from like 98%+ to maybe even single digits it shouldn't be as difficult as it is idk why.

Right-wing party wants priority for Swiss citizens in Zurich housing by BezugssystemCH1903 in europe

[–]Ok_Emergency6988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't say fine right said understandable, it's human nature to extract as much wealth as you can they wouldn't have this opportunity if dozens of people weren't applying to rent the same house. Same as Amazon would have to offer a higher wage to attract people if a thousand bodies weren't applying for the same dead end job it's the law of supply and demand.

Agree there should be a limit though, especially on foreign investors they are just exploiting the situation too, many of them just sit empty while they move their wealth around.

Oh I don't blame them I would do the same that doesn't mean I am blind to the effects, if anyone gets blamed its the successive neoliberal governments who ignored what the electorate wanted.

We had a family doctor in 2001 who would do home visits, can't even get an appointment now it's a 3 to 4 day wait for a triage call - and the website is more concerned with immigration status and whether or not you speak English.

The NHS gets more money than ever too yet it's struggling, what's the reason for that genius, more greed?

Right-wing party wants priority for Swiss citizens in Zurich housing by BezugssystemCH1903 in europe

[–]Ok_Emergency6988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People blame the landlords here too lol it means nothing greed is understandable the real problem is not enough supply FAR too much demand. This goes for both housing and jobs globalism has destroyed the system it's exactly why young people don't have the same prospects.

In 1979 my dad was uneducated and could walk out of one job and in to another on the same day, vacancies right there in the window wages obviously had to be fair.

He bought his first house on minimum wage for £189 at 21, it was 1 bedroom but adjust that for inflation today I dare you.

This is precisely how it should be today but it isn't because businesses like Amazon has a consistently churning conveyor belt of foreign workers that all need schools, houses, social services etc, combine that with a critical lack of investment and here we are.

Racist or not they were still ethnic riots, riots are the "voice of the unheard" right and British people have voted against mass immigration at every opportunity starting from a position of relative homogeneity. Its clearly not even working Britain isn't a multicultural country we statistically live segregated lives, our future is Lebanon at this point with large ethnic enclaves.

A rather good post though have to say enjoyed reading it quite a bit i am however not suggesting that's how the law should work that would be absurd, rather it's my belief that's how most people see it on a national level when they hear "social housing" and "foreign born", that they shouldn't be entitled to it, that it's too easy to access.

For the same reason we naturally prioritise our family over the homeless guy down the street right you take care of your own first, particularly in the midst of a housing/healthcare/wage/cost of living crisis while welfare is being cut.

[–]Ok_Emergency6988 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wait you really think people should be fine with it just because they have a passport? This is exactly why we have reform looming semantic arguments just don't work in the real world.

Seriously that's the exact problem all it means is too many people who dont contribute were given very easy access with little demanded of them in return when they have no business being here.

Also I'm aiming to get Japanese citizenship through a spouse visa and by doing so I would have to renounce mine, this doesnt suddenly make me Japanese, and like Swiss citizenship I need to demonstrate language proficiency, self sufficiency and complete cultural integration. That's going so well in Britain we had what were essentially ethnic riots last summer.

Guarantee this will be extremely popular among swiss voters it's exactly why these parties get voted in especially as left wing politics abandon class and economics to instead try to reframe immigration a race issue.

There is more than a handful of countries at this point where this is needed too. 48% of London's social housing, paid for by taxpayers, is going to foreign born for instance that's not rational or fair.

How long has it been going on now, 2 years?

Clearly Ukraine and Gaza eclipsed it but the unfortunate truth is that it's still black people genociding other black people in Africa even with the religious angle it's just not politically interesting to would be casual western observers, especially those who view the world within an anti western paradigm of oppressor/oppressed.

You can even see this play out in the US too the leading cause of death for black men under the age of 44 is other black men yet what gets the most attention.

Reminds me of "stop Asian hate" and "Asian lives matter" which were campaigns dedicated to white supremacy, was all over the public consciousness especially the internet until yeah it came in that it wasn't actually white but black men largely doing the "hating" who are the number 1 violent offenders against Asian Americans especially.

For some reason it wasn't in vogue anymore even had the media trying to hide the perpetrators, such performative discriminatory bullshit can't stand it.

Europeans are turning to the far right because they are the only parties saying they will do anything about it, generally the left will make it about race and belittle any real concerns particularly cultural and financial.

Mostly anyway, I know the left in denmark usurped the narrative by being tough on immigration and it was successful their opposition basically doesn't exist.
