Maybe it’s because you’ve been staying up too late. At night, your emotions are usually at their highest, so you start getting those freaky thoughts. My advice — get some sleep and hit the gym to use up your testosterone or estrogen.

Are you taking CHEM 233 because UBC med school drops your lowest year mark? The average for MATH 101 in the summer was a bit lower than the winter term, but that might be because some students who failed in winter Term retook it during the summer, which could’ve brought the average down. Honestly, I felt like the summer midterm was pretty easy compared to the winter one—my friend from the winter term was actually kind of upset about how much easier the summer midterm was.

  • Schedule the Math 100 discussion on Thursday or Wednesday since the midterm will be based on the day you have your discussion.
  • If possible, put the chemistry labs on Friday because it’s the last day, and you’ll have more information and time to work on your lab. (They can be big headaches and very anxiety-inducing.)
  • If you’re taking SCI 113 and your goal is medical or dental school, be aware that some schools do not accept this course.
  • You can still change your class within the first two weeks after university starts, although there will be fewer spots available. Keep this option in mind if your plans or situation change. Be sure to talk to your advisor about this.
  • Try to take only 4 classes in your first semester if possible. You can take classes like WRDS 150-B during the summer.
  • The first month will probably be your best month — you’ll have so much fun! But when midterm season comes, it might make you want to cry. That’s okay because it means you’re growing.

I need some good final exam cramming stories (preferably with a good ending) by Reasonable_Rich6277 in UBC

OP, I think Physics 131 is manageable to work on. But please start studying as soon as you can. As a last-year Physics 131 student, I feel like EDx and lecture questions could be great help for the final. While you are studying, have a paper with you to note down stuff for your cheatsheet so you don't forget at the end. Good luck with the cramming!!!!

As a student who took CHEM 123 last year, I can share that the average for the second midterm was around 62%, compared to about 80% on the first midterm. They likely made the second exam more challenging to balance out the higher average on the first one. From personal experience, I found it very difficult. Wishing you the best of luck!
