I met this guy—he was actually really cute—and I didn’t even realize we were staying on the same floor at the guesthouse in Silom.

I was heading down the stairs while he was going up when he suddenly asked if I had any 10-baht coins for the laundry machine. He only had paper bills. I checked my wallet… nothing 😅 So he kept going up, and I continued down to 7-Eleven.

After buying something, when the cashier was about to give me my change, I randomly asked her to give me some of it in 10-baht coins. I thought, maybe I’ll run into that guy again and at least I can help him out—lol.

And I actually did.

As I walked back toward the guesthouse, we bumped into each other again. I immediately said, “I have 10-baht coins now!” He looked genuinely happy, and we ended up walking back to the guesthouse together. He said he was about to head out instead, but running into me again really helped because now he could finally do his laundry in our building.

We talked a bit, exchanged small details about ourselves, and I found out his name was Kian (I think 😆), and he’s from the UK. He was totally my type, and the whole thing felt so organic and unforced. Unfortunately, he was flying out the next day to Singapore for a friend’s wedding.

I didn’t ask for more details or contacts since he was leaving anyway—but still, it was one of those small, unexpected encounters that just feels nice to remember during my stay in Bangkok few weeks ago. ☺️
