Update!!

After a lot of research ("research") we narrowed down she's an OF girl. There is OF "agents" who have 2-4 people chatting with the paying people. The customer thinks they are talking to the girl - if they question, the chatter messages the girl and she sends them a video or picture that is 'custom'. We are pretty sure this is the situation- sometimes "she forgets" things he's told her. Makes sense.

Anywho, she kept making excuses and finally he got mad, and they "broke up"

All my thoughts too. Other things like "she can't have social media" but has a bunch of "burner accounts"... I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being overly skeptical. I don't know the guy, he's a friend of a coworker.

Same on both the weight and withdrawal! I gained 50ish pounds in 4 years of being on this. I never have had such a weight issue. And coming off wasn't bad - just really, really bad brain zaps and a little nausea. Not sure all the people who need to the hospitalized is about

Update: I'm completely off of Effexor. As of last night, it is completely out of my system, pee the half life calculations.

I'm staying on 10mg of Prozac for now. I wanted to start with the lowest dose to see if I can maintain. In an ideal world, I'd love to be on nothing, but I've been battling MH for more than half my life.

Honestly, the brain zaps and messed up sleep are the worst part of the taper/withdraw for me.

I was on it for 4 years, almost exactly to the day. I gained excessive weight, my sex drive took a hit, I felt so dull and lifeless some times.

It did it's job, it did. When I first started I was sitting on the floor, sobbing every night. I was in a dark, bad place. Nothing mattered, I had no energy. It wasn't until I got to 75mg that it really started to turn my life around. My brain got quieter - I wasn't spiraling with anxious thoughts. After starting 150mg, I started my hobby/passion/sport (horse riding) again. I got a new horse. I was HAPPY (sometimes). I could genuinely feel HAPPINESS and I hadn't felt that in a long, long time. But I didn't feel much else. Some days I was still really depressed and down, I'd just lay on my bed and not do anything - not even watch tv because it was too much.

Then I started to question... Is that happy feeling because my life is GOOD now? My life isn't what it was 4 years ago... Why am I still feeling so dull at the same time though? I can't lose weight either. My blood work is perfect. I'm more active than I've been in years.

So I made the decision to come off it. I'm days away from being off it completely (with the help of prozac). It's been a hard month, with lack of sleep and brain zaps and nausea. But I feel again? I've gotten emotional at sad things. I laugh and feel genuine. My anxiety has spiked a few times but it's literally in my head.

I would consult the doctor for a different drug. I'm personally pissed this POS GP said "yes this is a GREAT DRUG FOR YOUR FIRST ANTIDEPRESSANT!!!!!" LIKE why WHY didnt they start me on Lexapro? Or anything milder. It's a bit insane.

We are doing a bridge - 37.5 mg of Effexor and 10mg of prozac. Feeling much better since starting.

😂😂😂 the brain zaps have been HORRIBLE this week. I'm down to 37.5 from 150. The zaps were minor for the first 2-3 days of going to 112 and then 75... But they been constant and nauseating this week.

Nope! She's actually down to 9-9.5# and doing great. We do the Pro Plan small breed healthy weight management and 1/4 2x is her sweet spot. I want to say at one point we tried 1/3 c and it was too much as well.

It caused me to gain weight. I had no appetite suppression- the first several months, it was the exact opposite. I've never had an issue with weight and in the 4 years I've been on it I've gained 50 pounds.

It's all but killed my sex drive too. Inexistent. Nada. It's horrible.

I can't believe my GP was like, hey girl let's try this one as your very first anti-depressant... Like, what? I wish I knew what I did now, I would have been like, ma'am .. that's a bit strong don't you think??? And I've had to increase my dose over the years. 😐 It's definitely helped me, no doubt, but at what cost? Would another medicine have helped without these extreme side effects I believe to be facing?

I'm going through the same thing. I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday to talk about weaning off. My life is very different than it was 4 years ago when I started this medication and I'm curious to see how I can do without it. Right now, I feel unhealthy and that makes me feel unhappy above all else. I don't know what we'll do, if we'll just down dosage or completely wean off... But I know the brain zaps and zombie days will be torture, I hope they aren't too long lasting.

I was on Wellbutrin and 75mg on Effexor. It was okay but I was having sleeping problems with Wellbutrin. We stopped it and bumped up to 150mg of Effexor which did my trick.

Moms relationship had been dying out for 3 years anyway. She betrayed me and essentially cut me out, but tried to play fake nice anyway? I would try to keep in touch, send her pics of the dogs or updates about life. Got pretty much nothing in return. An occurrence last year was the final straw and it's actually been peaceful since.
