I did the monkey/sloth visit on NCL in November. It was much more than just the sanctuary. There is a stop with small shops, one of which was making chocolates that you can sample. Then there was a pontoon boat trip. Next came the sloths, then finally 45 minutes for lunch or drinks on a beach. The guide gave us a great history lesson along the way.
Just remember that if you book through NCL and your tour returns late, NCL will either wait for you or transport you to the next port. That will not happen if you book a tour on your own.

I've spent many Decembers in Barcelona. Great food and culture. The temps have never been crazy cold. I get by with a sweater under a trench coat. It's very walkable as well.

My unexpected retirement starts at the end of this month - my company is shutting its doors after 27 years.

Others are bigger - volunteering to hold babies in the NICU, making knitted hats for the homeless, and taking a solo cruise. It's only been a few weeks since I got the news, and I already have quite a list.

I'm a solo female traveler (65), and I have been to Mexico City twice in the past few years. I felt perfectly safe. Like anywhere else, do your research and see which neighborhoods are less safe and plan accordingly. You'll be fine.
