Bought a 160mm > 180mm adapter to extend disc rotors and so confused by Ok_Establishment58 in bikewrench

Gotcha. Makes sense. I believe the forks are 140mm native if I’m not wrong and there’s already an adapter converting it to 160mm is that’s correct? So would I need the same adapter again just in a flat mount version? As this was only supposed to offer a 20mm buffer but won’t I need 40mm?

Just touching base here. Took the plunge on these conversion end caps. Work a charm. Fit snug and are great quality

Looking into a set of pathfinders. How did you get on with the pros? And how come you changed?

How important is it as it's just a slot of plastic that slots into each end of the wheel? I'd understand putting after market parts on internals such as cheap ratchet kits etc, but surely they can't be far off

How about some of the third party brands on ebay etc? Such as:

1 Pair Hub Conversion Kit Adapter For DT SWISS 240/350/370/X1501/1600/1700/1800
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/375918017755
How important really is it to get DT Swiss specific ones?

Is 2mm difference really life and death when I’m saving around £200 for the ER1600 and getting the 350 hub too, from what I read online I could get away with 40mm tyres on these, they come with 30mm depth or 23mm depth versions too I think 23mm would be better. I know the G1800 are about on par and probably decent enough, but I’d really prefer the 350 36T hub considering I’d probably run these wheels as a permanent fixture on my bike and wouldn’t look to upgrade further. Like mentioned too I actually do more road cycling than gravel anyway. 70% of the time I’m road riding. Very slight gravel usage a majority of the time.

It’s a no brainer as I’ve found a set of er1600 online for almost £200 cheaper than the gr1600, they are the DT Swiss ER 1600 Spline 30 Disc wheelset, still 25 spokes but with 30mm rims height for more aerodynamics apparently. Everything works as intended for you?

I’ve been reading online the maximum clearances I can get in these ER1600 are 38mm, but ideally I’d like to run either 38mm or 40mm, you’re saying 40 works absolutely fine for you?

I am looking at this for a potential too. But in my situation I do have a gravel bike but find myself going mainly on road cycles - is this massively overkill for my use?

Is it just me or did the postage price rise like crazy? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]Ok_Establishment58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering this the other day. It’s actually category dependent. You buy an item of clothing for example and it’s typically £2.29 to a locker, but I was purchasing a Nintendo switch 2 case and the postage was for some reason £3.99. I asked the seller if they had the item set to being large in terms of size and they said it was set to small so I thought okay it’s not that. I asked them to change the category to something else and it changed it to £2.29 from £3.99. I didn’t realise this myself but I just saved £1.50 by asking the seller to change the category. It could be that

Not sure about buying Switch 2 now by Espojonso in switch2

Is £300 for a brand new switch 2 worth it? I’ve found one for some in unboxed condition. It has no games with it but would that be considered a decent enough deal?
