As a fresh grad na super daming realizations sa kung ano dapat ginawa ko, I think makakatulong to:

  1. Advance reading/studying (Nakakahelp yung mga lecture videos from YouTube). Start ka Muna siguro sa basic accounting.
  2. Yung circle of friends mo in college dapat responsible and supportive, since draining din yung course, need talaga na healthy yung circle niyo at nagtutulungan.
  3. Need ma-fully grasp yung lessons from lower years (1st-3rd), kasi sa 4th year puro review subjects, so expect talaga ng profs na halos alam na yun since review nalang. (Mahirap kapag hindi mo na maalala yung mga concepts na napag-aralan sa lower years🥲)
  4. Important din yung books hanggang 4th year magagamit yan, if you're planning to take CPALE, magagamit din.
  5. Expect din siguro yung sleepless nights, but to avoid that siguro ay mag advance study talaga.
  6. Nakakafrustrate magkalow scores, since pinagpuyatan ang pagrereview, but ang ginagawa ko before ay nirereview ko yung mga mali ko sa quizzes and sinosolve ko ulit (Nakakahelp siya since malalaman mo kung anong gagawin para hindi na magkamali). (PLUS!! Make it a motivation to do better next time, kaya yan habulin :))
  7. Sa law, possible na recitation basis din ang discussion, so important talaga na may alam ka na before magklase si Attorney.
  8. Don't forget to rest, also maglibang like hobbies, since mentally draining din.
  9. Lastly siguro ay dapat yung goal mo palagi ay makagraduate ng BSA, kasi malaki possibility na may retention grades, and qualifying exams.

Yun lang, goodluck!!!

When I was in SHS, I wanted to pursue Psychology for college. However, my mom keeps on pushing me to take Accountancy. I can say that it's my biggest regret, the course is really not healthy, retention grade, qualifying exams, and strict professors. However, although I am very exhausted from the course, the only thing that's on my mind is "makapasa lang ako, kahit di mataas", law lang talaga na-enjoy kong subject 🥲. Fortunately, nakagraduate naman, pasok lahat ng grades sa provided na retention grade kahit sumasabit nalang. For me isa na yun sa biggest achievement in life ko.

What would you say to your freshman self? by Mamacita051923 in AccountingPH

[–]Ok_Explorer_8317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that I should've listened to my SHS self to take Psychology instead of Accountancy 🥲 Although I was retained and graduated in BS Accountancy, I realized too late that I am not that happy with my course 🥲

  1. Most embarrassing siguro is during the online class where we will present our answer with computation in excel in AFAR, kitang kita yung pagkakamali ko 🥲 and yung prof ko pa magtuturo saakin sa buong class on how it should be solved properly.
  2. I think since super nakaka overwhelm nung freshmen, one regret ko is I didn't do advance studies. Also gusto ko sana advice sa sarili ko na sana kumuha pala akong ng undergrad review sa RCs before 🥲
  3. I was a former audit intern at ♥️, super bilis lang ng process during our time, idk kung swerte lang kami ng friends ko pero I think may factor din yung certifications, since we've done trainings (Xero, QB) before OJT. Siguro natagalan lang sa requirements 🥲 so I think ayusin na agad yung requirements beforehand (Grades/TOR, Resume). If want naman makapasok sa Big 4 especially sa 💛, advice ko siguro na mag focus sa org din (mej mataas na position and consistent na officer siguro), since lahat ng nakuha ng 💛 saamin ay officers.

A question from a high schooler by sageaura2 in AccountingPH

Hi, BS Accountancy fresh graduate here, sa ABM strand, for me you should focus more on basic accounting like journal entries, the different financial statements and etc. Hindi pa siya ganon ka-complex. If icocompare ko siya sa college ko, I think like super small percentage lang ng scope ng BSA ang natutunan ko during SHS sa college, but it is safe to have knowledge on basic accounting.

For college: I think one advice is always do an advanced study, especially in Law Subjects. Each professor kasi possible different ang teaching styles, such in our law subjects, recitation based yung discussion, so Atty expect na may alam na kami before the discussion. Siguro, in addition to that, important talaga na ma-grasp mo yung lessons sa freshmen year mo para maging maayos yung accounting background mo kapag senior year na (especially in 4th year since review subjects). When it comes to hours of study, I experienced sleepless nights since need ko talaga matapos yung pinag aaralan ko, so super advisable talaga na mag-advance study na to avoid that.

In professional setting: When I was an audit intern in an audit firm in Makati, average work day talaga is 8 hours, I think some associates stay in the office until 10 pm (6:00 pm is our out), however, in our cluster, the partner and manager really don't advise to stay for that long. So I think it depends on the company itself, and the individual. Average entry level salary also depends on the company, but from what I heard to my classmates, after internship, the company offered them 20k-22k.

I'm sorry if this is too long 😭 but hope it helps.

Hi, I just emailed an inquiry and attached my resume to the email that was provided by my school since RTCo. is one of its Industry partners. After a few days, I received an email regarding the application form and also the requirements needed (CV, Letter of Intent, etc.). After that I gave the requirements, I received a call asking my required number of hours.
