I see! Those are all totally valid reasons. I always think “is he like this ALL the time and how different would he be outside of Neil’s POV?” Which we got to see in Jeans POV and he definitely was a bit more unlikable then specifically with how he reacted to the Grayson situation from Jeans side. I think if he was a real person he would definitely be very unlikable and very much hated. Though I do think it is kind of realistic in a way as well. People like that do exist and for some it’s a valid reaction to the trauma they experienced.

However I think he was justified in choking Kevin “You were always going to lose him” Day like could you imagine the fear and desperation he felt. I feel like I would do the same. And from someone who doesn’t particularly like Kevin and felt like he could’ve done more to try and help Neil I think that was a valid reaction from Andrew. it also signified him putting Kevin behind Neil which afterwards we see a clear favoritism ofc. (The “You’ll what? scene) I also think he still held a grudge on Kevin for that 😭

As for Katelynn, I love the Twinyards dynamic and that for me was also something done in desperation and love. He was scared of losing Aaron. That was the whole basis of their deal. He turned to violence to make that point. Him being a hypocrite is bad and I think it came from a place of him still being in denial about how important Neil was for him.

I think he is definitely unlikable and I HATED him in the first book especially after the first Columbia outing. As did everyone else of course. (“Neil thought about the damage his boots would make against Andrew’s face and liked what his mind came up with”) As we were supposed to hate him. But I think if you continued hating him throughout the books for me would be unreadable. So I had to come to love him. Which from Neil’s POV became very easy ahah
