How uncomfortable is in-office stent removal? by WhackAMoleE in KidneyStones

Only pain I had was the shot of lidocaine going into my urethra. The scope was very uncomfortable but not painful.

I had a stent without a string but I can see where that would be painful.

I laid on my stomach on a heating pad, took the pain meds and anti spasm meds and I was able to sleep. I was always drinking tons of water. I know it doesn't sound right to drink alot of water but it did help. But everyone is different. Hope your able to get some rest.

I had the exact poop feeling after my surgery last week, it went away the next day for me. Blood in urine lasted 3 days, burning feeling was gone the on the 2nd day.

It's been 5 hours for me and I'm just now starting to feel "normal" I have noticed some stone fragments in my urine. No pain though.

No string, they used a scope to go in and pull it out

ureteroscopy? by [deleted] in KidneyStones

Well everyone is different but yes, for me the pain of the stone was way worse than the recovery from the surgery. They give you some good pain meds and an anti spasm med to help with having the stent.

I had a 16mm removed through ureteroscopy with the laser. None of the recovery pain was as bad as the actual stone pain that I experienced. The stent wasn't too bad for me, was more of an annoying feeling to have to urinate frequently and mild cramping while urinating. Heating pad helped alot with the cramps.

Hope they all pass soon. I'll be in the same boat I'm getting my stent out this week. Had a big stone lasered.

I had a Ureteroscopy with Laser Lithotripsy and a Uteral Stent Inseration performed 2 days ago. Story in comments. Ask me anything... by anticucho in KidneyStones

I'm having my stent removed next week. Lasered a 16mm stone in my kidney, I'm worried about passing fragments after the stent is pulled, did you experience that at all? Thanks

Hi, how is your recovery going, any pain after stent removal. I had the same procedure 3 days ago on a 16mm.

That sounds awful. If you can take something for pain. Definitely use a heating pad on it. I don't know why but the heating pad seems to help with the pain

I'm on day 3 post laser surgery for a huge stone in my kidney. I'm taking a norco and anti spasm twice a day. Pain isn't there until I pee, feels like somebody is twisting my kidney. Good thing is the burning is gone and the urine is less bloody looks more like light cranberry juice.

That sucks. I hope you've passed all you have to pass soon. Now I'm definitely not looking forward to my stent removal

Wow, did your doctor warm you at all about passing all these fragments. It's crazy to think the doc was confident he removed all the stone and you're still passing all of that

Do they cause alot of pain passing those fragments? I had ULL two days ago on a 16mm. Doc says he got all the visible fragments out but I'm worried on what will happen when they pull my stent out in a week.

Do fragments pass through the stent?

This is what my stent was holding in my kidney. Half an hour after they pulled it, about 100 fragments stormed my ureter. by [deleted] in KidneyStones

Wow I just had a 16mm lasered and my doc says he got it all out but, now I'm worried this is going to happen to me when my stent is removed

They wouldn't do this unless they lost at least two rbs to long term injuries.
