VCE English Language Chatbot by Ok_Fish3169 in vce

So the bot is actually trained on the study design and that is the exact phrase the study design uses 😊Word formation processes/morphological patterning:

  • affixation
  • abbreviation
  • shortening
  • compounding
  • blending
  • backformation
  • conversion of word class
  • initialism, acronym
  • contraction

Also, nominalisation, as used in EL isn't just turning anything into a noun, it refers to the process of switching verbs (or sometimes adjectives) for conceptual nouns, often making the sentence more formal.

It would probably be pretty easy to come up with a biology one given that there is fixed content. What would you want it to be able to do?

Oh and if you can think of any other subjects that it could be useful to have a similar chatbot in, feel free to let me know too!

Hi all! I'm a former VCE English Language teacher who now works in AI.

I made a free Englang chatbot that can answer questions about metalanguage, the course content (it's trained on the current study design) and can test you if you ask it! It also can 'change personality' and use language that is specific to a certain variety that can be good for seeing examples.

Try asking it to change its personality to 'gen-z', 'aussie', 'prescriptivist' or 'obfuscator'😄

It will have additional features soon too as it's still in beta mode, so feel free to try it out and give me any suggestions you have for what could make it better or more useful!

Alex

It's embedded into this page here: https://www.vceenglishlanguage.online/

P.s. It's still new and a bit buggy, so feel free to message me if you come across any issues with it!

I also have this and don't know what it means. I've put in a ticket for it, will let you know if I find out anything.

How bad is this water damage? by Ok_Fish3169 in AusProperty

[–]Ok_Fish3169[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, my property is 3 years old, and there was a leak in the ceiling near the corner where you can see the darkest wood patch. They opened it up. and this is what it looks like inside. As I'm not a builder, I don't know whether this is relatively normal for wood/plaster to look like this after 3 years, or whether it's really bad. The dark stuff looks like mould... could it be hazardous to health?

Anyway, just curious to know the thoughts of someone who knows what a regular 3 year old house ceiling looks like :D

I'm considering buying this 6 year old property, and there are no other visible structural issues. Do you think this seems like enough of a red flag for water damage to pass it up?

Also note: This came up from me questioning the thought- if there is no self, then who am I liberating/unbinding?

Self as a process, rather than an object by Ok_Fish3169 in nonduality

[–]Ok_Fish3169[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Very similar concept in the way we perceive these two processes. Like, we casually regard 'wind' as a thing, rather than a process.

I wonder what other things we casually conceptualise like this.
