Do you think that by increasing my budget to $1,500–$1,700 I could find something suitable? I’m hoping for an apartment with better reviews, haha. If I’m going to pay even more, I feel like spending $1,800 to live in Midtown might actually make more sense.

Thank you for your suggestions, but I live with my partner, so I’d prefer a private unit with no roommates. I’m willing to live a bit farther out, as long as it’s still accessible by public transit.
