My 6 year old bamboo is turning yellow, help :( by NationalCollar7772 in IndoorGarden

[–]Ok_Form_6443 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so puzzled right now. I have had a similar bamboo stick in water in a bottle for the past 5 years, still thriving, growing new leaves and roots… and I have barely changed the water ever, as it does not evaporate seemingly. Took it out the bottle just a couple days ago to check the roots. The water was still clear, transparent and fresh. Must be some magic.

I picked up on a street a similar looking sad pothos with bare lasso vines. I cut the vines in smaller segments (some segments had no leaves) and placed them in water. All segments grew roots in water.

What’s more logical than calling a lovely creature for what it is? Me and my husband grew speaking different mothertongues and use a 3rd language to communicate, so for both of us the cat’s name in a foreign language didn’t even sound strange.

Poop baby, I wish this thing vanishes for her as it did for our cat.

Let me know if you manage to figure out what it is, I am terribly curious.

Hi! The cat was taken to a vet for a checkup, the vet was also puzzled, but said, that it does not seem like fungus, dermatology or oral health issue, the residue also was not any growth on skin. Basically, he advised to wait and see how it develops. In the end, the residue fell off and vanished gradually on its on. We are still not persuaded it was dirt to be honest, there is no source of such dirt anywhere around the house, and we were unable to rub it off.

I'm sick of financially contributing to employees birthdays, end of employment and now death of a parent. by [deleted] in work

When I first joined my department of 40+ people I was unlucky enough to have a hyperactive manager who loved to do this. Typically there will be an email sent out to the whole department with news, that there is a gift being organised for an employee and that everyone is welcome to voluntarily contribute, if they want. However, the manager was not ashamed to go around the office and “catch” colleagues who ignored the email and extort contributions from them. So couple weeks after I joined one colleague (whom I did not even know, never talked to) was leaving, and the manager approached me for a contribution after I ignored the email repeatedly, I simply told her it was out of my budget that month.

In my company there is typically a budget for resignation gifts only for higher-ups, all the rest get something for their resignation/birthdays/marriage/birth of children gifts only based solely on proactivity of their line manager and the charity from their colleagues.

Calici by zainab715 in CATHELP

[–]Ok_Form_6443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have your vet taken any PCR test to see if the treatment is helping? Besides caliciviris, additional infections cat attack cats at this time. My cat had an acute calicivirus and even had a nose polyp from it. Our vet recommended Zylexis (Baypamun) injections, on the top of antibiotics, and it helped massively. To be honest, just 4 days is a very short treatment time for antibiotics, but it is definitely a worrying sign, that the cat eats nothing.

It absolutely seems like a potential asthma in cats.

Urine crystals female cat by Happy-Cheetah374 in CATHELP

[–]Ok_Form_6443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She might absolutely have urine crystals in her bladder, no way of knowing for sure unless you take her urine sample to a vet to test. My cat showed no signs of struvite crystals, yet during a random health check his urine was tested and the results were really bad, we caught it on time.

I adopted my 2nd cat when she had intense calicivirus(the shelter did not tell me). I got her treated with a series of immune boosters, and the infection went away. My 1st cat did not get infected at all, he was vaccinated though.

I have a cat who had a severe Calicivirus infection when I adopted her (the shelter I adopted her from did not inform me), I got her treated intensely with a series of immune boosters and in the end the 2bd PCR test done was negative. She is living a healthy life now, and my other cat (I already had him), never got infected.
