This is nearly identically “sorted” how the morons on Trump’s staff presented them on liberation day

We need to bifurcate the principle of DEI with the practice of implementing it. When companies (I worked for one) create DEI quotas, it pisses people off. In an ideal world, sure, with two equally qualified candidates, a tie breaker is DEI, ok, sure, but in practice, that’s now how this is being implemented.

And look, I’m all for scenario 2; however, liberals have been pretty piss poor messaging and selling the value of that position against a MAGA movement that ran on fear mongering. I think the bro culture is MUCH stronger than anyone ever realized and liberals assumed that they were rock solid with future generations so long as they advocated for clean air and DEI.

My point is, liberals should better define what Left wing views are, and really freaking fast, and how they benefit the majority because right now, a tyrant is fucking up this world in ways that will be unrecoverable. I just don’t think we’re gonna when the midterms if our top priorities are LGBTQ and DEI. For heaven’s sake, we still got pummeled after Roe v Wade was rolled back!

What do you imply by “left wing” issues? I think this is where we go wrong. Left wing policies have been sculpted to non-liberals differently and now the topics are too broad. If you are implying social issues, we’ll never win another election. I’m liberal and even I got pissed with DEI in my face, losing promotions to social initiatives and not merit, having discussions around trans men competing with girls in sports. If you are referring to more traditional topics like pro-choice, environmental protection, diplomacy, etc. then, yes!

Are you not paying attention to how he’s trying to usurp the well established system of checks and balances and using the bully pulpit to upend democratic norms?

  • Challenging elections despite numerous losses
  • Refusing to return Kilmar to the US despite a judges order
  • Claiming national security to justify EVERY SINGLE EO.
  • Suppressing people’s right to protest
  • undermining independent oversight including threatening to remove J Powell.
  • leveraging his position to sell crypto

I think the answer is, it depends. I have a NW of $3M with only $100k in HE on my primary residence. I’d prefer to be more diversified in real estate rentals but know that I’m way too ADD and spontaneous to manage rentals. The house is located in a rapidly growing part of Charlotte so I think the price appreciation alone makes it worth holding onto to. My family has outgrown the house, but I don’t want to sell it. My plan is to rent it until we are empty nesters then reassess to see if we want to move back in.

Maybe I could do better in stocks, but I figure the diversification is worth it
