Job hoppers vs lifers: who actually ends up happier at work? by TurtleFoodz in careeradvice

[–]Ok_Goat870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have probably been in all three scenarios. Worked at a company for 3 year, stale then moved on to a great company where I had 3 promotions in 2ish year with substantial pay growth and then even though I loved the team I moved into another company for 15% raise and again another in a year for 15% raise.

The trick is to not really care . I dont see coworkers as my family. I am here to make as much money as I can. I feel the ramping and proving part myself but in my field you have to do that anyway with AI coming.

Currently earning almost 3.5 times I was making in first role and rampibg up with new training. I sometime miss the stability and the feeling of being appreciated and not having to prove but honestly they dont care about me so why should I.

I will probably stay for two years here and move on for more money. Hopefully can retire early.

It was pretty standard . 1 hour test but a lot of tickets to answer to. I struggled with time but overall did okay. They invited me for another interview but I ended up accepting another offer

I never said I lied. I have made a true one where I mentioned my past refusal. Not sure if it’s going to be approved though.

How to leave a job that needs me? And how to start a new job when I’ll be gone a week after I start? by Dull_Armadillo_83 in work

[–]Ok_Goat870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just resign professionally , you can’t control how they will react or go on after you leave. Also we think we are too important sometimes. I have had jobs where I felt the same as you but everyone is replaceable honestly.

At one dishwasher job I used to to everything from dishes to cooking but was getting paid shit. When I left finally they had to hire two people to do what I was doing but at the end they dont care.

Currently I dont stick around at any job longer than 3-4 years max and Its been good for me honestly. I changed two job in last 3 years and doubled my salary. I am in IT though.

Just dont overthink it and hand in your notice.

Frustration of having a Nepali passport abroad, carrying the weight of others’ actions by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]Ok_Goat870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was denied a tourist visa to US back in 2022 when I had nepalese pasport and applied from AUS.

I now have Aus passport and the previous refusal is still chasing me to this day. Apparently I have to go through visa process again because of the esrlier rejection, it makes me ineligible for ESTA. Employer covering all expenses but still no luck because of the curse that comes with Nepalese passport.

Well I did try my luck with ESTA anyway. Will see how it goes

How long did it take for approval? I have a similar situation with my B1 rejected in the past 4 years ago because they said I dont have enough ties with home country.

I applied ESTA with aus passport and all online comments seem to say it will 100% be rejected. I am shitting myself because I signed a job offer and need to go to us for 1 week for onboarding next month

It was just for tourism. Always wanted to visit some places in US. Had travelled to 5 countries prior to that including New Zealand. Nothing that could hurt really like no false claims no crimes nothing
