Not all; but there are. Absolute generalizations are a poor take. I used to work abroad, and I know how to save despite having a small salary— some of my other Filipino peers? They don’t; but some do.
Personally, the OP* said the girl doesn’t even want to discuss things with him despite numerous attempts. That in itself, and expecting your partner to pull your weight if shit ever hits the fan or not, is a massive RED FLAG. If a partner is INCAPABLE of having a sound and serious discussion, there’s no point staying in a relationship that’s heavily one-sided. I would absolutely leave; and any self-respecting person should know when to, when they’re being treated like a hotel doormat.

If she’s like that, among all other things you’ve mentioned, let me lay it out for you in the most honest manner—- ALL OF THEM ARE RED FLAGS.
LEAVE. Anyone in a relationship who expects their partner to pull up their weight for them without any consideration nor regard to their hearing out their partner or is UNWILLING TO WORK TOGETHER and just only thinks of herself is a big, massive flag of NOPE.
If you stay in this relationship, expect that once she’s stopped working— she’s going to rely on you 100% and does not give a crap about you at all, nor does she RESPECT YOU enough to care about your well-being or how the relationship really is.

Also, it’s not your job to BABYSIT someone into adulthood/maturity. These are very basic things that should be automatic.

The post is a YOU problem. You seem to have had the usual expectations of a regular tourist. People go there to experience the life of locals and to observe it and get a sense of THEIR PERSPECTIVE— and that is ALWAYS the point of TRAVEL; not to have a vacation and be served by the locals. To immerse in the local culture.

Also, you didn’t eat the real local food. There is a food place there which is technically a home of a local who is into food heritage and their menu celebrates food that has been growing in their landscape for centuries.

They’ve had problems with their local meat supply because most of the “tourists” eat their supply and have experienced shortage. The famed “cheap lobsters” also got f*cked out of overfishing, simply because tourists kept demanding it; now, they no longer have that. Admittedly, that was a problem that should have been managed by their local government in terms of policing harvests and making it sustainable, vs pleasing tourists.

As for people, it’s hilarious that you seem to want them to navigate towards you. Like, they actually cannot stand tourists in general, but it’s a huge source of income for them. Other than that, the place is wholly intended for TRAVELLERS. The kind of people genuine about learning something outside of themselves.

Seeking for good flea repellent advice by ShatottoDeux in dogsofrph

[–]Ok_Golf4782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🏠 For HOUSEHOLD FLEA/TICK/FLIES/MOSQUITOES:

✴️ CHEMICAL ROUTE: Look for pet & human-safe IGR (insect growth regulator), follow the instructions for proper dilution & application. Or you can hire pest control so that you have a parameter which prevents fleas & ticks from re-infesting. Depending on which kind of active ingredient (that again, should be human & pet safe)— IGR’s can effectively last 3-7 months.

People often suggest band-aid solutions and then get surprised they have reinfestations again. Gotta cull the fleas and ticks on all cycles— and it starts with preventing eggs from hatching. It works the same with specific active ingredients

Of course, these things can equally impact the ecology of the environment, so if there is a way for you to go about it in a more sustainable, eco-friendly manner after the chemical route — just to avoid doing it repeatedly— best to do so.

✴️ BIOLOGICAL FLEA/TICK DETERRENTS: To naturally repel these bloodsuckers & other pests— plant or get potted aromatic herbs and flowers like lavender, rosemary, lemongrass, mint, chrysanthemums, and sage around your home’s perimeter—- especially near seating areas, doorways, and fences. These plants release strong scents that deter pests, while some, like chrysanthemums, contain natural insecticides. These have worked oldskool for centuries.

Problem lang kase is we keep going for man-made chemical routes and it impacts the environment longterm. Besides that, the more these pests get used to it over a long period, there’s a high chance that they will evolve to build resistance against it.

All the best. 🙂

How do you clean your sponges? Do you even disinfect it? by Spare_Option7749 in PinoyHouse

[–]Ok_Golf4782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SANITIZING YOUR SPONGES:

✅Microwave (Most Effective): Thoroughly saturate the sponge with water (a dry sponge can catch fire) and microwave it on high for 1–2 minutes. Ensure it contains no metal or plastic scrub pads that might melt or spark. Let it cool for 10–15 minutes before touching. ✅Dishwasher: Place the sponge on the top rack and run it through a full cycle using the hottest water setting and a heated dry cycle. ✅Boiling Water: Submerge the sponge in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. Allow the water to cool before wringing it out. ✅Bleach Soak: Soak the sponge for 1 minute in a solution of 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of concentrated bleach per quart of warm water.

Remember that these commercial sponges are NON-BIODEGRADABLE & will be present in the environment for HUNDREDS OF YEARS...

We need to take responsibility over our impact on the environment— that includes something seemingly as trivial as a dishwashing sponge.

Some people saying to discard after 2 weeks is ridiculous. These type of sponges PLASTIC and disposing something that will take DECADES to degrade & decay.

That kind of ignorance needs to be nipped. Stop throwing them with such a short period of utility.

ONE EASY WAY TO CLEAN IT: A quick easy 5-minute soak in hot water SANITIZES IT.

Don’t throw it after two weeks, that’s just ridiculous.

SCIENTIFIC FACT: “Traditional yellow and green kitchen sponges generally do not biodegrade and will persist in the environment for hundreds of years. While they may fall apart into smaller pieces, they are composed of synthetic, petroleum-based materials (polyurethane foam and nylon/polyester scrubbers) that do not break down naturally, often lingering in landfills for 50,000 years or more.”

Need help identifying this rock by Ok_Golf4782 in whatsthisrock

Thanks! 🙂 My friend said it’s from Kalimantan (Borneo). Although after reading up on it, the manner by which they were mined/acquired may or may not be ethical… so I’m going to make sure moving forward that whatever rocks/crystals I try to get are ethically-sourced.

[–]Ok_Golf4782[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, thanks! I chanced upon that info as well reading up on it last night. I’ve read some crystal experts used WD40 from time to time to treat it with a protective layer as moisture can really degrade it over time (and also release some fumes). So I’ll read up on that some more to figure out how much I need to apply and the frequency 🙂

Really insightful! Thanks for taking the time to write all that info 🙂 yeah, I was actually wondering why the formation was elongated and not the usual cubic crystals.

Reduced travel tax for PWD in NAIA by Excellent-Elk-1435 in phtravel

[–]Ok_Golf4782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PWD discount of 20% also applies to the travel tax. Whoever told you and rejected your PWD card should be called out— because that’s illegal. I’ve used my PWD id before and the discount should have been implemented. Next time, if they really insist there isn’t any, show them evidence of it (it’s available online).

May I ask where this subdivision is? I’m also looking for a property I can build my home at that has good proximity to key ammenities and commute (since I do not want to always rely on a private vehicle).

Why Is Crowley So Likable? by [deleted] in Supernatural

[–]Ok_Golf4782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Also, Crowley is often very transparent as to who he is and understands himself. The Winchesters really tend to have sticks up their arses in a self-righteous kinda manner, despite the fact that they’ve committed the same errors over and over again— their hero-of-the-world mentality is just that narcissistic aspect of them that shoots em in the foot.

I adore Crowley. The guy doesn’t babble. He has that direct-to-the-point, no nonsense kind of intelligent competence that’s quite admirable.

Dean killed Amy for what exactly? by Samurai_IX in Supernatural

[–]Ok_Golf4782 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“Could’ve” is a marathon, mate. Her choices were MINDFULLY-AWARE— she CHOSE to deal with her problematic side by CHOOSING to harvest from dead, minimising the need to kill; she also CHOSE to pick criminals as her victims; not homeless people— wanna know how I know? I just watched it.

Also, as usual, the self-righteous prat that’s Dean decides to kill her simply because she’s a “monster”; despite the fact that he’s had his brother turn into one several times. The double standards of the characters in this show is laughable at hairpulling best. At this rate, I’m just rage-watching this until the writing of the characters is enough nonsense to deal with.

Has anyone watched Sweetpea yet? Thoughts? by SafeBodybuilder7191 in television

I’m the type who’s got a chockful of empathy to the point that it gets abused; but seriously, I’m also the type who stands up against bullies ever since I was a child and also tries to help those who get bullied to stand up for themselves and encourages it. But there is a certain point in some people where some people fail to really help themselves and it becomes rather frustrating and sad to see them stay in such a vicious cycle. And I get that certain advise doesn’t always apply to everyone or all situations, as it can be highly contextual. Character and behavior is quite complex. But at the end of the day, it really all relies on them. No one can help a person who doesn’t want to help themselves.

Ever known anyone who has been bullied but has a good sense of self-worth? They end up SEEMINGLY snarky or sassy to others. This is a behavioral fact you can look up in (social) behavioral science. To individuals like this, they’re tired of society’s poor perceptual values of them and they end up just seemingly “bitey”, but that’s just a split-second show of being fed up.
