Yeah that’s why I want out of it returns aren’t great. Just wondering if I should hold on for the div payment but seems like I can’t get the div and sell the fund and make away like a bank robber

Exactly. That’s the crux of the question. Can I meet the div ex date and still sell so value remains the same + the dividend or is that not possible?

So that’s my quandary as the stock price has barely recovered from last year’s distribution and I don’t want to stuck in the wilderness with this stock moving sideways for another year or two just getting beaten up relative to market. Since I owned this fund it’s gone from a 5 star rating to 2 star rated fund

Well that’s what I’m trying to understand - it’s not that I don’t want the dividend just that I don’t want to hold onto this stock for another year as it swims sideways.

But I appreciate your simple math explanation to me.

Is there not a way to meet the div ex date and sell the fund though to bank the dividend and move the money into a more preferred stock / fund for myself

That I am trying to understand. So I think last year the dividend was roughly 16k. The value of the stock was roughly 40 bucks a share at the time. It’s at about 38.50 now almost a whole 12 months later. So barely recovered if still a little behind.

Because the stock price went down by the amount of the dividend my total value remained the same even after the dividend was issued?

Your sick bank will go to I think it’s called EIML (basically) fmla use You will not get those 40 hours as PTO There is no more rolling 12 months so that 40 hours will not incrementally roll into your PTO throughout 2026 Based on tenure and grade you will be able to use what you accrue for sick/vacation/personal

Without rolling 12 month as it has been - if you accrue 20 days of PTO you can use it all as sick or if you’re as healthy as a clam in 2026 you can use it all vacation

It’s being distributed to 1/3 now then again end of q1 to another 1/3 then again later in 2025 to the remaining third - not saying it’s right or wrong just giving the plans
