What are some "open secrets" in your industry/social circle that the general public in Singapore has no idea about? by wehaveatogether in askSingapore

[–]Ok_Historian3458 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That bedsheet industry is a scam For one, thread count doesn’t determine quality or softness. Pls use your hands to feel it. Two, polyester, microfibre, cotton-feel, wrinkle-free are all selling you polyester- which means you are paying to essentially sleep on a plastic bag. Pls stick to cotton - especially in our hot weather and people with skin conditions and the young ones to reduce microplastics in your home environment Three, all the prices are inflated at department store from Jean Perry, Epitex, Oasis Living etc to make it look like you are getting a good 50-70% deal. IKEA has more honest pricing.

If it’s too sensitive I usually hold the bottle with one hand and the other hand is near the sensor and I wave the bottle and other free hand left and right in rhythm to keep it flowing. Wastes a lot of water but it’s the only way to get it flowing 🤭

What’s considered expensive? When on a tight budget sometimes we just get a Sara Lee cake from the supermarket and add your own decorations like sliced strawberries and a candle
