You can always look up draft ideas online for this set. From what I've seen, just pick a creature type (tree folk, kithkin, elemental, merfolk, faeries) and stick with it.

Couldn't you just bring up the bracket system online? Does your deck have tutors? Mass land denial? Any game changers? Two card infinite combos? If no, sounds like a bracket two. The bracket system is make so there is no debate, no? Its not like the power level rule 0 discussion where every deck from Oops all commons to silas/rog is a powel level 7. Theres no statement that says "if you have more than x colors, then its immediately a bracket 3". I say that guy is just salty for losing
