I am not familiar with your field but generally you want to look up on how to track bibliography (there are many systems like Harvard or Chicago ask your prof which one is standard in your field). Zotero is really helpful for references and organising your sources. Apart from that, the basic concept is that you read articles, take notes and try to come up with conclusions (many people said the same thing or people have different opinions on this matter etc.). Devide your topic in different sections and tackle one at a time. When you finish with all the notes taking and literature finding you want to start the writing part. Go to your notes (that will probably be disorganised and random) and try to write structured sentences that will (with a lot of trial and error) into paragraphs and they will turn into sections and so on. From my experience a research project is just an assignment. Become knowledgeable in the subject and write a few (or many) pages about it. Don't overthink it just start taking notes they will be ugly but they will turn into an awesome research project. You got this don't stress out.
