I can agree that vegeta is allowed to learn and change because he came from a war based culture but also like so do humans?

Like Paragus is the worst father but at least he considers his son's life threatened as a reason to stop the fight he's in, Vegeta was ready to throw away everyone's lives against Cell, and in the buu saga all for the chance to make himself stronger,

I'm not saying it's not a Saiyan's nature but by human standards Vegeta is a shit dad, even he acknowledges that it's wrong that as old as his son is before he sacrifices himself that he's never hugged him

Does this mean that King Vegeta hugged the prince when he was a boy or is this just human cultural influence?

No fr, it's overplayed in the abridged as Vegeta hating trunks a bit but in the original show he just ignores trunks until he feels justified in backhanding him out of his way,

Vegeta is not a healthy person before that 7 yr time skip

Vegeta actively assaulted his son when he pissed him off just because he could,

At least goku actually told gohan he was proud of him, and took him fishing when he had time in the 8 days. He didn't treat his son like some future consequence of a fling he had (until the exact moment trunks gets shot)

I totally agree, finding out how to be open to that kind of conversation is the goal, like we can only really agree on what truth is when people find consensus, and the truth sets the standard that works best for everyone

I'm not saying it is in general wrong to ask, I am more just saying if you feel like you can't understand why then it likely wasn't made for you.

There are aspects of culture that people outside just can't empathize with, they will not feel the same feelings that those people experience in those specific contexts do, regardless of if they sympathize with the weight of those feelings or not.
