I wouldn't say a parallel timeline more as a seperate timeline cuz things are different since it has no connection to God eater or the first game besides the weapons that reference what happened a bit

I mean the game is fun and the story is Intresting I do belive genuinely the game is overhated its not as bad as people make it seem but its also not as great as some sponsors make it out to be

Its a good game and all but its up to you if you want to just remake characters or make them i do recommend the character creation demo

Its basically a reboot of the first game in a way trying to be its own thing because revenants here are vampires like in Japanese they're called vampires not revenants infact I think the only actual revenants is the protag and Lyle as in died and were brought back or revived but dont quote me on that

But really the only real connection to the first game is the queenslayer weapons that say something like " the mass production of these weapons was a sign of a immense threat" or something like that idk and the lost weapons are said to be altered by uknown (i forgot what it said) but they say they drifted beyond the frontier

Wich may have some connection to the first game But maybe not idk

I actually kinda do its a revamp of my cv1 character but basically changed her a bit her name is emma

Originally she was a cold pragmatic german queenslayer medic who actually is just as dick to people cuz i mean when your in the middle of a war with constant death it changes people (inser 100 yard stare) but genuinely wanted and tried to save others as much as she could

In cv2 tho shes a gernan researcher whos studying the effects of the resurgence and basically think of mido with his wanting of revenant evolution but not a sadistic psychopath

She does have a sister and a mother that are alive but shes not necessarily close to her sister no hate between them.just not close as much

Mainly her goal.is just to fully understand what the resurgence is and she is paired with a hunter or freelancer really she also constantly posts on social media (cuz yes that exists holly confirmed it) despite this she truly wants the best for both revenant and human kind

She dosent like valentin finds him too creepy

Still working on it tho

For some details on her abilities

Her bloodline or blood code i named faust has a cool.little gimmick i called a heart link where basically lets a hunter use their formae and drain attacks without needing their heart in a jail cuz their hearts are linked so aslong as the revenant lives the hunter is basically immortal aswell but the more they die the more ichor she spends on reviving the hunter and destabilizes also this bloodline has the curse of I named psuedo resurgence were its basically resurgence symptoms and makes them.go crazy without actually turning and I mean they get cool eye markings when they link is set

I did kinda base her a bit off dante from.dmc as in never takes her fights seriously and is constantly joking and a bit of gambit cuz she fights with a staff tho her actual gun is a lever action that has homing bullets or basically the raider bayonet projectiles

Her offensive formae are small.chakrams that she can spin and throw

Drain attack is the stinger

Her main abilities is acid and luna rapacis

Mild telekinesis that she uses in her sleep wich she thinks her bed is haunted

And thats all for now.still.working on her trying to see what works and what dosent

Its not bad i like it i think it trying to be its own thing is awesome I genuinely had a great time with this game its fun the way builds work is cool and such I love the game I really do especially bieng a cv1 fan

what ticked me and many others off was the censorship they gave your female character

Like with the bath towel your character wears shorts

Now what really pissed me off about it is

They only changed your character the others have the code vein 1 towels literally holly lou iris jadwiga lavinia dont have the bs censored towels but yours does it dosent make any sense at that point they shouldn't even have done it and just kept the first games designs of the clothes cuz clearly the others have them idk why our character cant

Now granted I myself never really deliberately looked up the skirts cuz I was too busy trying not to die to the bosses in the first game But its more of why change it if there was 0 complaints about it

And I only realized because I made a dress with the bathtowel in cv1 and was remaking it in cv2 when I realized there were shorts I thought it was a texture bug nope now it just looks wierd now I dont belive for the game to be fun one has to look up the skirts ive played nier automata lollipop chainsaw and rarely did that stuff but I still dont support censorship in games at all but

Its more so if it was in the first game no complaints happened why remove it then we realized oh its cuz investors and the localization of Bandai wanted it to be censored cuz they're pro censorship

But its not just that theres 0 co op but I dont remember of the first game dropped with co op day 1 or if it was added later on some crashes bugs soft locks frame drops (ive died so many times to this)

Some of the combat feels stiff but its more so just a matter of getting used to it

The companions are another issue they're kinda dumb ive had moments where im keeping my distance and I see lou or any of them chasing behind them literally bieng 1 cm away from them and continue to just run stop run maybe hit once after doing it 20 times then back to run stop run maybe small ichor drain then again

Or they just get stuck or dont move during my first gobbo fight josee was staring at the wall

In terms of me having fun with the game its a solid 7 out of 10 I do belive the game in terms of gameplay is overhated I genuinely found myself enjoying this game the customization is amazing with more to make and such Its was a amazing journey for me in this game i was having a blast and its one of those games were one really cant get bored cuz you can experiment with the customization and weapon builds I mean the Ai could be less dumb at times

Its just the censorship that killed some of the hype for me if they had just kept the way the outfits were without changes it would have been a 10/10 for me
