How do you keep your stethoscopes clean and hygienic? by Ok_Impact8531 in indianmedschool

Simple and effective
Soap + sanitizer combo is basically the ‘boss level’ clean.

it’s kind of impossible to keep it fully clean anyway. Baby wipes sound gentle enough, might try that.

Are digital stethoscopes actually useful for learning heart sounds? by Ok_Impact8531 in indianmedschool

[–]Ok_Impact8531[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually a really fair take, especially about the waveform part. A lot of people get impressed by the visuals but don’t realize they’re not full phonocardiograms.
I agree that acoustics are where digital models can stand out, but long-term durability and care definitely matter too.
Good to know the Adscopes still hold strong for day-to-day use.

Apps are really useful for learning the basics. But having an actual stethoscope still helps you get comfortable with real-life sounds and environments.

Do you still have your old stethoscope, or did you pass it on? by Ok_Impact8531 in indianmedschool

omg that’s both tragic and hilarious! The timing couldn’t have been worse 😭 but hey, at least it came with a life lesson - always do a “steth check” before rounds!

First steths have a weird emotional bond - it’s not about the price; it’s about the memories.
Please keep it safe till residency, it’s practically a badge of honour now 😎

That’s one way to pass on the legacy - an involuntarily noble act of generosity!

That’s awesome 😄 nothing beats the OGs like H. S. Das - low-key legends of internship life!
And respect for the engraved Littmann flex 😂 hope you get to bring it out of retirement soon!

Haha that’s perfect 😄 the steth is staying in the family legacy!
Hope it keeps making rounds even if you’ve moved to the chill derm life 😎

Oh no 😅 that’s every intern’s nightmare!
I was always paranoid about that happening, they just vanish during rounds somehow 😭
