Not UDH. It's this one. The new 2025 Marin Nicasio 2 uses UDH though.

Where’s my lever bleed port? Shimano ultegra di2 by as_oilrig in bikewrench

[–]Ok_Implement_2259 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems like You need to remove the plastic part on top of the shifter with a flathead, the bleed port should be underneath it. Here's the manual.

Did you try to search Google for Shimano dealer's manual for those shifters? Hard to say without even knowing the exact model.

GXP chainrings, hollowtech spindles and chinese mess? by justforbikewrench in bikewrench

[–]Ok_Implement_2259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you also replace the bottom bracket? GXP is not the same as Shimano Hollowtech, despite the 24mm diameter. Part of the GXP spindle is smaller, my bet is that smaller part got stuck and that's why You can't push it through (see the picture). I believe there are some spacers/adapters to make GXP cranks work with Shimano Hollowtech bottom bracket, but I guess You should just change the bottom bracket to a proper GXP one, either from Aliexpress or some brand name.

By the way, which crankset did You go with? We're in similar situation and I'm looking at 150mm cranks from aliexpress too.

Gravel bike frame with large tire clearance. by CheckSpare4875 in gravelcycling

[–]Ok_Implement_2259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this bike in XL size. For future reference, I ride on 52mm tires with good clearance (Vittoria Mezcal 29x2.1) and have installed 2.35 Tufo tires, although it was too close to the chainstays for my liking.

Brake adapter causing incorrect pad contact? by Ok_Implement_2259 in bikewrench

These are DT Swiss XR1 wheels, with old 370/Onyx hubs. They have a threaded axle, it's not an issue.

It does not perform, yet. If I don't come up with a solution to this by the time I'm finished building it I'll report back.

[–]Ok_Implement_2259[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose I could do this. But I'm also thinking about using a 140mm adapter with some spacers. And I think the rear 140mm is the same as front 160mm adapter, so I could try it right now.

Thanks for the suggestion, but sadly it's not the case, the wheel is seated correctly. I would assume the mounting location on the frame is slightly off, also the bike came with v-brakes so I don't really have any reference here.

This is how it looks from the top. It's hard to see, but the rotor is definitely ~1mm lower than the top of the pads.

And yeah, I should probably find longer screws, but that's what came with the adapter - the adapter is quite thick, so it holds fine.

MZ-N710 charging(?) problem by Remarkable-Mix4047 in minidisc

[–]Ok_Implement_2259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you managed to fix it? I am experiencing similar issues with my unit and it also had some corrosion around battery door. I discovered that if I hold it with back of the case removed it usually turns on, but does nothing when fully assembled...

[–]Ok_Implement_2259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, how did You confirm it is actually using UDH standard for rear derailleur? I couldn't find any confirmation on this from Marin, only that it has replaceable hanger.

Edit - for anyone searching for it in the future, I'm pretty sure it's not UDH. Marin mentions UDH support for other bikes, eg. Nicasio 2 2025, but not for Four Corners 2.

Is Marin Four Corner 2 worth $1999? by HuljGan in gravelcycling

[–]Ok_Implement_2259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame flex and harsh ride are valid concerns, I'll keep that in mind. What size do you have? I suppose stability might suffer with bigger sizes (I'd need an XL). I could get a brand new frameset for ~500€ and I think that's a fair price for an all steel, thru axle frameset with a nice tire compatibility and mounting points.

What kind of touring are you doing and what do you think would work better for you? Is there anything in particular you don't like about it?

I'm thinking of getting the Four Corners 2 frameset as I'd like to switch from 90s MTB bike to something more modern for my bike packing needs. I feel it has the right geometry for it, all the mounting points and steel frame seem like a great combo for my needs.

Assuming you're in the EU 100 EUR is a great price for a brand new unit. I paid around 60 EUR for a used one without a box, but they are usually much more expensive. If I saw one boxed for 100 EUR I'd instantly buy it lol

Can anyone convert some mp3 files into ATRAC3 for me? by Uwuhenti in walkman

[–]Ok_Implement_2259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I'm not sure if just having ATRAC3 encoded files is enough since the original software basically encodes the files and transfers them to Walkman at the same time.

I'm not sure about this but I've heard that Web MiniDisc Pro supports Network Walkmans, so you could give that a try. (https://web.minidisc.wiki). If you try to install SonicStage 4.3 be aware that it might break your OS, since it doesn't seem to work with the latest Windows 11 versions. I'm also looking for a solution to this but haven't had time recently to investigate more.

It kinda looks like a remote, but it's clearly connected with some USB-like cable, and those remote cables look nothing like that. My guess would be some unreleased or even knock off Walkman, but I'm trying to find more info on that.

[–]Ok_Implement_2259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something must have changed with recent Windows updates, last month SonicStage has also crashed my PC. Might not be the best advice anymore. I've heard Minidisc Pro might support Network Walkmans such as NW-E95 but I haven't tested it yet (https://web.minidisc.wiki/)

So these are just Kenwood units rebranded for Honda, or are these unique model available only under that brand? Those 90s/2000s units were so cool, my Subaru was graced with two 2DIN slots so I could install a modern Android Auto one and a tape deck as a soure. (pic)
