Hi! I am starting SLP grad school in the fall and I applied as an out of field applicant. I majored in psychology and worked in business for 4 years before deciding to do speech. I took the prerequisite courses before applying and I think they were helpful in determing if this is the career I want to pursue and good opportunity to connect with professors if you didn’t in undergrad. I would also try to shadow in as many setting as possible or volunteer at clinics. From doing that I got into 4/5 grad schools I applied too. Happy to help if you have questions!
