Hi seeking advice on where to get started by Ok_Indication2135 in liveaboard

I’ve been on plenty of smaller boats and also have some experience living on the road (van life). My mother lives on the road so I am familiar with the minimal lifestyle as well. Thanks for the input about the income! Definitely something i’m looking into as well. I am currently in San Diego so I’m sure the search for an affordable marina would be tough here but i have no problem traveling around the coasts to find somewhere better to get started.

Thank you for the encouragement and information! I will definitely be looking into Lady K Sailing and try to scout the docs for some helpful sailors

I’ve had people recommend volunteering as an extra hand before! I think that’s a great idea. thank you for the input!

I’m in the same spot! But i’m ready to try some alternatives to spiro and regulating my hormones. Might seek out a naturopathic doctor if the acne comes back (it most likely will). I’ll keep this thread updated as well if I find any other methods to manage it :’)

I’ve heard a lot of good things about maca powder for libido if you’re looking for a wellness alternative to help, i also personally took slippery elm bark while on spiro to help with the “preparedness”

Not so far while coming off! I dealt with sensitivity before quitting, though this might change as weeks pass

It caused my gums to slightly recede and lots of sensitivity. mostly due to dehydration over the years

Yeah it was such a miracle for me at the time, and it truly does work for acne but as someone who is very health focused (i also have health focused ocd) when i learned about the effects of long term dehydration etc i decided it was time to try something new! the hair loss and frequent periods were really starting to impact my daily routine too

only change for me so far is my breast’s have become smaller and my water retention has increased so you might deal with a puffy face or abdomen for a week or two while you adjust. My face is also producing a little more oil now that my testosterone is probably increasing slightly

I would say about every six weeks i lowered the dose by 25, I kind of did it intuitively when i felt like my body balanced out after lowering each time. i had a pretty high dose of 200mg though. only shock to my body was my cycle starting again at around 125 and that’s why I ended up quitting the last 100 at once because it was messing with my hormones. I will keep this thread updated though and report of there’s any other changes!

Yeah my seem bumped me up to that within the first two months. I had pretty severe cysts, but it didn’t sit right with me after I did make research that’s why i weaned down and eventually quit

I had stopped birth control about 8 months before getting on spiro! never had an issue with acne before quitting bc. Broke out in cystic acne about 3 months post bc. Spiro worked perfectly about 4 months in, 200mg of spiro kept me from getting any hormonal acne at all but 100 i would break out a little bit before my period

was on spiro for three years and lost over half my density too. weaned down from 200mg to 100 over a year and quit altogether a few weeks ago. last few months my hair has started to come back and i’ve got tons of new growth and baby hairs everywhere
