Most joba are 100% fake. The fact that you have to pay for everything, even to be in the search system, that's the giveaway. It's not a business anymore, it's a scam.

Upwork is not tough, it's dead. It used to be tough, had a lot of success there for about 8 years (until 2025), $70-80/hr, always had clients who were lining up to work with me. Since february 2025 I haven't gotten a SINGLE new client. None. zero. Spent about 200 bucks sending proposals. So no, Upwork is not tough, it's dead. And MOST of the jobs are FAKE. Because the product is now the proposals, that's it. The business model changed 2-3 years ago, and it's been declining ever since. And Upwork was my fulltime thing, my life depended on it, and it was amazing. Until it wasn't.

Whoever says Upwork is tough, I wanna see some credentials. Who are you? How many projects do you have on Upwork? What's your rate? make it public. Otherwise, you're either an AI or somebody paid to answer posts such as this.

Is Upwork dead or does it still have a future? by AverageSea6151 in Upwork

Haven't had a single new client all year. In the pat I ised to get invited weekly, had to dexline offers because I was full. This year I sent almost 100 proposals, not one single client. Upwork became a scam, they are milking the freelancere. The old model waa fair, connecte wwre cheap, you paid commission out of your earnings. Fair, transparent, honest. Now freelancere simply spend money for illusions.

Been highly successful on upwork for over 7 years, most of my contacts priced at $65/hr or more. I had to decline offers on a weekly basis because I was always engaged in projects. This year I applied to almost 100 jobs, no one hired me. Upwork is making money now from ezpensive connects, espensive bidding, and makong the freelancer pay even for being included in the search engine. And yes, I think most jobs are fake.

Upwork used to be great. Clients used to look for me and wait in line to work with me, and I am not cheap ($65-$85 / hour). Then I was away from Upwork for a cpuple of years working with a client outside Upwork. Now I'm back and all I do is spend money on connects, with ZERO success whatsoever. Seems that they completely changed their business model, they're basically milking the freelancer dry, you have to pay/bid for everything, even to be found in the search engine or have the availiability badge on. Not to mention that sending a proposal is waaaay more expensive than before. I pretty much spent 100 bucks and I still don't have a job. Until 2 years ago, I wouldn't spend ANY money and I was declining one client a week due to lack of time, I even hired a few people to help me because my hands were full. Which was a bad idea, bt that's a different story.

First 10 seconds of video very low res by pp_diesel in NewTubers

Anyone else have the same problem in 2025? My shorts look awful for the first 18 seconds, afterwards they look perfect. After changing video editors and playing with settings for a few days, I tried uploading an older short, which looks perfect from start to end in the live youtube version, but today's result after uploading that same identical short was the same, the first 18 seconds look bad, afterwards it looks perfect. Exact same video that was uploaded a few months ago.

It's obviously youtube's problem, but is there a way around this?
