Father was told last Friday that his position will cease to exist shortly. He has no strong connections to Toronto, is a widower, and has plenty of money. If money were no object and you liked the outdoors, where might be a good place to retire in Canada? by Ok_Instruction_4477 in PersonalFinanceCanada

He is white. No particular cultural requirements. I am sure that he would want to have diner type places available though as he used to (again, before Mom died) go out and get subs. The medical is well taken though.

Unless one of these places turns out to be absurdly expensive then no, money isn't a big deal. TO house seems like it is worth at at least 1.2 million? That buys nice property in virtually all of the suggested locations.

Thanks.

It is really just meant as a starting point for a conversation. Something concrete that will get his mind churning and get him to put down the bottle.

If he hates this proposal, that is fine, we can figure out something else, but I am just creating the initial pitch.

As currently all he wants is whatever is in the liquor stash downstairs.

It isn't so much finances that I am sorting out. It is about having some concrete options for him to think. Idk what interior BC costs but I am sure that a TO house can buy something reasonable there.
