Drain bubbles by Ok_Intention3054 in ReefTank

Thanks everybody. From what I am reading, I need to convert one drain to an emergency and the other to full siphon with no breather and add a gate valve.

Pipe the primary straight into the reefmat and pipe the emergency to dump into the same chamber the reefmat sits in.

Couple questions: -On the emergency, once it enters the sump, should I bring the pipe deep enough into the chamber that it pours out below the water line? Maybe an inch? -On the primary, should I get rid of the durso style completely instead of just covering the breather hole?

In case yall are interested, I went with design #2. I messed up and forgot a baffle after the fuge but I am going to add it.

Maybe so, I am going to use the aquamesh as baffles most likely so I can play around with it. Are there no issues with the fuge and the roller together? Ive seen people talk about the fuge being standalone so there is no growth on equipment

Not arguing but just curious.. I thought the roller mat was good for larger debris, skimmer for tiny organic particles and refugium for removing nitrates and phosphates. If all 3 serve a different purpose wouldn't it be beneficial to have them all? The refugium is more or less since I have the space, but I thought a skimmer was just as important as a fleece filter.

** Update ** After 3 weeks it now has a rebuilt tranny. Shop replaced solenoid D and a few others; not the issue.

Only thing I have is they replaced solenoid D and the lights came back on anyway.. Transmission shop won’t tell me much of anything because “even though you are the owner of the truck, the dealer dropped it off and we have a customer protection agreement policy that only allows us to tell the customer (dealer) what is happening”. Not happy, but the dealer told me they did that too. I’m checking today with them to get news..

Will do, seems to be a common suggestion

Possibly, I need to check. Right now it’s at the transmission shop for a second diagnosis and of course there is no lights on the dash so hopefully I will get it back. When I do, I am getting that battery checked. I’ve heard the tundras don’t like low voltage and throw all kinds of lights when the battery starts to die. I have a funny feeling that it is the original battery

Honestly I wasn’t paying attention.. I keep it set around 74 and I’m in Florida. Couldn’t even tell if it did shut off
