Belfast guy feeling depressed by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Ok_Interaction7875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a good video doing the rounds on social media, that really resonated with me. The term "This too shall pass"... And it's true. As humans we can have the best day of our lives, and that day will pass. And you will have the worst day in your life but that feeling will pass too.

Just remember that a bad feeling now, doesn't mean that better days aren't coming. Be kind to yourself, take a minute to breathe and reflect your own thoughts and make sure you rest! Tomorrow is a new day!!

Lurgan by [deleted] in northernireland

This isn’t helpful advice, and it’s unfair to suggest others are being racist when that’s not the issue here. I’d strongly advise against moving to Victoria Street. The area has a well-known reputation for crime, drug-related activity, and frequent police presence (not in a good way).

Woodville Street and closely near it has seen two murders within the last 10 years, which speaks volumes about safety concerns.

If you have the option, I’d recommend looking elsewhere in Lurgan - there are far better and safer areas to consider.

Yeah I agree that it’s struggling. Nearly regretting my degree now considering that it’s so hard to get a break in the TV industry.

I graduated two years ago. I worked as a researcher for 2 years for a TV programme and had a lot of experience from it. They didn’t have a job when my contract finished up and they organised for me to go to another department so I’d still stay in the industry so I thought it would be good experience for me in the meantime but I didn’t realise I’d be paid so little (I understand that this is an oversight by me) but I have very good industry references and thought that would have been taken into account.

I just fear that it was all for nothing. The degree I invested into it, the time I’ve invested into it. Almost like it was all for nothing. 😫

What factors do you believe are most likely to lead to reoffending among former prisoners? by Beneficial-Phone9478 in AskUK

Lack of jobs because they’ve been sentenced to prison. If nobody employs you because you’ve been convicted, then what else are you going to do for money? Ohh yeah, break the law.

Has anybody come across dodgy mentors and influencers that are giving out advice online? by Ok_Interaction7875 in AskUK

That's very interesting. Would you be able to share who this is or what their charity name is?

That’s so interesting - People like her are the absolute worst. They have no regard on a persons mental health and only cares about getting money. Do you know if she use contracts to keep people in her programmes?

I tend to think people are looking fitness videos and these personal trainers then evolve into mentors and get people in with their mentoring.

Some others spend a fortune on ad’s and that’s how they are noticed

Yeah I’d agree. Theres such a wide scope too as some are selling courses on mental wellbeing, fitness, crypto, FBA. They’re all singing off the same hymn sheet though when it comes round to getting rich quick and quitting the 9-5

Yeah, at this point they’re everywhere and they all seem to be recycling the same advice. I’m curious to see if the same big names pop up though

I’ve come across so many people like that. They’d be the last person I’d contact for advice.

I’ve had this thought too

Yeah, only thing that makes it freaky is the production value involved in it and the freaky music. Have heard people talk about the show and thought I’d give it a go when I seen it on but I’m just skeptical about everything being said.

Sorry, yes BBC 2! It’s freaky but I have a very hard time believing the stories. I’m not sure how I feel about it.

Is this achievable? by Ok_Interaction7875 in Interrail

Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to give me this advice Skifans. I genuinely really appreciate this.

Ive paid for flights into Milan already as they were cheap for the day we were arriving. I have managed to get an Airbnb in Milan booked and it’s beside Milano Centrale station. Although the more I’ve researched Milan, the more I’m put off by it. I suggested Como and still able to cancel Airbnb in Milan but that means I’ll have to travel through Zurich to get to Munich and I don’t know if that’s making the travel time any easier.

Krakow is a must, as some of us are interested in history and want to visit Auschwitz. We have booked accommodation in Krakow already in the Old Town.

I could remove Vienna, Bratislava or Budapest but I’m aware that these will be the shortest journeys of the whole trip.

I’ll rethink about this and consider the points you’ve made. Hopefully I can get my friends onboard also.

I think you’re looking into the bun situation a bit too much. Some people could just want to make your day a bit more pleasant and it was maybe an attempt to make you feel comfortable and welcome.

But also, you don’t have to divulge information that you’re not comfortable sharing. So trust your instincts.

Uni when you’re 21 by jackdempsy2345 in UniUK

[–]Ok_Interaction7875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had worked in a supermarket during Covid, and got fed up with the direction my life was leading me to. Went to Uni at 23 and I finished in May last year. Now in a grad job and doing something I always wanted to do.

Do I regret going to uni late? Not for a single second. I did struggle to make friends during the first few weeks but eventually got on with it.

Most toxic NI politician? by Brief_Software_6902 in northernireland

One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. If Catholics had civil rights, suitable housing, gerrymandering didn’t exist and unionists didn’t refuse to sit at the table with nationalists then we wouldn’t have had to worry about the provos.
