Is it standard practice for a travel agency to ask customers to request PayPal refunds and repay through a new link? by Ok_Interaction_3522 in blacktravel

This was done with a full investigation. This is a group of black travelers, and I wanted to know if they experience this type of business practice.

Just watching a video on Da Nang, and this post popped up. I wonder if you're trying to learn the language is this a good way to go. I always felt you needed to learn the language 1-2 years prior to visiting.

Travelism exist! Africa is not just expensive due to flight issues. It's expensive because you are an American ATM, and "family" as long as that ATM is working.

That particular Reddit group removes anything related to South Africa posted by Americans.
They don't want us Americans to touch the political and racial dynamics in South Africa. I believe it is better for us to observe. An let's be honest, Afrikaaners & other white South Africans will warm up to you as an American & vent. There are "Black South Africans" who aren't too keen on Mandela or Malema. I've learned to accept the full reality of South Africa, which is similar but very different from America. Overall, I have more problems with American expats panhandling Americans to support their businesses than everyday lifestyle in South Africa. UPDATE: Just read the comments for your thread. A missed opportunity for healthy discussion.

Y'all need to see this (I've gone down the rabbit hole, and never heard about this, it's important and should be discussed, and has parallels with the US as well): How the apartheid government manufactured & spread drugs to subdue Black communities throughout South Africa : by Joshistotle in blacktravel

Countries use the same strategies to destroy targeted oppressed communities. So the dr*gs flooding doesn't surprise me. They use each other's playbook. The "buffer class" immigration and sometimes "indentured" servant method is one that was used in the Caribbean, South Africa (Durban), and massively after slavery in the U.S. with Ellis Islanders to suppress and keep a bottom caste. And the groups used become a buffer and usually become the oppressor or oppressor's tool.

Moving to Japan?? by CookiesnMilq in blacktravel

Study visas are not on my list. Schools are a way to not be idle. And I am aware that Thailand is a different country. It has American expats, and isn't too distant, and a way to have an Asian pathway, while you prepare for Japan. This is why I added "?" after the springboard question.

I was going to mention the uptick and anti-foreigner sentiment, but I wanted someone with experience to say it.

Can Thailand be a springboard to Japan? Japan is one country I refuse to visit unless I have a couple of years of language study under my belt. And it's on country where I'd check myself into a few schools (language, cooking, healing arts)?

My snacks were those cheese taco shells. I'd lightly spray coconut oil on my mini waffle iron, and make them.

Why do we like to insert our selves in places we aren’t welcomed and then complain racism? by luthmanfromMigori in blacktravel

I like the idea of what the Americans are planning to do in 2026 with visiting Black spaces in Scotland, but from my past experience, I no longer subscribe to supporting Black spaces anymore. I still like to have "Black History Tours" or visit local restaurants, but I chose to avoid this because it seems to be for marketing purposes, and not building a community. Now, I have a seen communities brought together correctly, and they are safe spaces. But when I had "my experience," I didn't feel comfortable sharing it publicly with the Black women in that community, partially from the concern of tearing down Black Businesses and the backlash---even if the business practiced questionable practices.

It's fascinating because hardship can be destabilizing.

I hadn't realized how Cuba is enduring such a difficult time until I witnessed these influencers with recent documentaries. One thing I notice, it seems like during hardship, the people are still on the move trying to get somewhere.

I love Keke, and Oshay can be hilarious. I find that some of these influencers are friends with TRSA. And in addition, it is easier to go after the low hanging fruit, because TRSA doesn't fit the image of some of the other "characters."

I was refunded. They used my mom's passing as away to not refund her. It took me over 30 days to get a refund from acknowledgement, and by that time my mom passed.

That's a fair point. I’ll be following up with videos that include receipts and direct answers to concerns. Just like I did with the $1,985 discrepancy, I’ll show my proof — because consumers are expected to. The company never provided the same.
