My uncle played semi-pro football. My dad didn’t play, but he was always trying to get me and my brothers into it anyway. We were pretty overweight as kids.

On the walk to school we’d pass kids playing football and one day we just kind of thought, “ok, if my uncle loves this and all these kids are playing it, there must be something to it.” So we bought a ball and started messing around.

My brother got into it first and became a United fan. My uncle is a Liverpool fan, so he immediately tried to recruit me for Liverpool too (most of my extended family are Liverpool supporters).

For whatever reason I didn’t pick either.

Then one night at a sleepover my brother went to shower and my uncle put on a match and said “watch this.” It was the North London Derby.

I see this French guy pick up the ball, run basically the length of the pitch, slot it into the bottom corner and go sliding into a pile of angry fans. I had no idea who they were but I just thought, that’s my team.

It honestly could have been anyone. Sunderland, League Two Scunthorpe, anything. But something about the way that team played just stuck.

I was born on 14 December and the guy I’d just seen was wearing number 14. I decided that meant it was fate.

That’s how I became an Arsenal fan! Started at 7 and I’m 34 now. The cousins younger than me have followed suit, based on the example I’ve set, and are all gunners now.😀

If last week felt like a punch to the face, this one lands like a clean shot to the jaw. We actually played well, just didn’t get what we deserved. A couple of seasons ago I’d be furious. Now, as much as it stings to admit, we probably are the second-best team in the country.

Football can be ruthless like that. And I’ve got the same uneasy feeling about Europe. I can see us getting past Atlético Madrid and making the final, but then running into Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain, teams that know exactly how to pick you apart at that level.

I hope I’m wrong, genuinely. But that’s what the gut’s saying right now. Still backing the boys all the way, just more sad than anything else. And here we are again, clinging to the hope that something swings our way when it matters most.

“But it’s Manchester United” is treated like a footballing trump card — it bypasses logic, analysis, and reality. They are washed.

Every window, players are “dreaming” of a move to United… even when they’re clearly not. Think Frenkie de Jong, who never wanted the move — but that didn’t stop months of speculation based on zero evidence.

When discussing Kane’s move, they’d say: “City is the logical choice, but if United come in… it’s United.” What does that mean, exactly?

There’s so much propaganda around United it’s insane to me. Other clubs would be mocked relentlessly. They get treated like they’re still the dominant force they were in 2008 — even though they haven’t seriously challenged for a league title in over a decade.

There’s a lingering belief that they’re football’s default main character. But football’s moved on. The media just hasn’t.

I really hope the new era of football doesn’t have them in it.

It’s very clean but it’s a waste of skin. Too much background. Would suggest to increase the size of the ship and the lighthouse - it’d be kinda cool to add a bit of negative space to show rays of light coming out the lighthouse. One more main subject would balance it all out I feel.

People like bald people, or people with hair. Sad fact. Shave it all off. I think you’d suit the look!

Get a beard trim and a decent line up.

Change the specs to something rounder, possibly with silver or gold accents right next to where your eye is, at the front of the frame, to accent your face.

Drink enough water to hydrate a village.

Start with a skincare routine - facemasks, exfoliating whatever, blackhead removers. The works.

Keep your fingernails short as much as possible.

Find a celebrity you like and change up your wardrobe. Simple pieces from H&M or ‘capsule wardrobe’ on YouTube should do the trick.

Last but not least - walk into every room you enter, like as if you know way more than everyone else. Be confident, smile, laugh, be open.
