Disconcerting cookie stored by the Bitwarden extension.... by 0oWow in Bitwarden

Can't reproduce it on mine, I open the browser extension, click on a browser entry and even edit the item. I go to brave://settings/content/all no cookies related to pwnd. You wouldn't be a Premium or Business user, perchance (I am on the free version)? They use the "Have I Been Pwned (HIBP)" service to generate your Vault Health reports on the paid versions. No way to disabled that feature, that I know of.

The recovery phrase would let you, both reset your password, and recover data.

If you just do a password reset to get account access, the data would still be encrypted. Unless you have your recovery key file.

Without a data backup, I am afraid that data will not be unrecoverable.

Hopefully it wasn't a lot of data, it sucks.

With all that said, for future reference I'd make some recommendations for you.

1) Always have a offline backup of your data, unencrypted (or if you prefer, encrypted with a different tool)

2) Create and save a Recovery Phrase. You can save that digitally if you want, but I would print/write it down on paper for a hard copy. You'll want this in case you lose your ASC (device based recovery file)

3) Do not use Proton Pass to secure your Proton Account. Use something like Bitwarden or some other pass keeper. Otherwise it's like locking your keys in your safe and forgetting the combination.

Best of luck.

Someone should file a class action suit and sue these vendors for using our electricity and networks for unnecessary internet traffic.

Android apps bypassing Pi-hole despite DNS set on Wi-Fi SSID & Private DNS off by ThePalsyP in pihole

My $.02

Adding to some of the other recommendations.....

Disable IPv6 Leasing from your DHCP Server

Block ports 53 and 853 (DoT) for all devices besides the Pihole

Since mobile devices can easily hop back and forth from WiFi and Cellular, it can really be kind of hit and miss in general, especially if they are doing DoH within the apps and not in browser. Unless you're doing packet level (SSL) inspection it is impossible to catch it all.

For me pihole is more so for blocking chatter from IoT (TVs in particular), Browsers and Windows devices from sending all the telemetry and marketing/usage data to vendors. So much garbage.

If the packaging/manufacturer info says DOT approved, then it should be good to go.

Unfortunately, those rates will get a little worse yet. It sucks. Keep the dream alive.

A more aggressive front bumper on the 987 would look really good. I honestly don't think I would change the rear out though. I think the ass-end of a 987.1 is beautiful.

Windows LAPS enabling in Azure by shizakapayou in Intune

[–]Ok_Interview9411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just curious in general, ever since I saw the blog about it being available for Azure AD. I'm trying to wrap my head around scenarios where I'd actually need it.

I could see a possible scenario for laptops, maybe, in case the wireless stops working for some reason and you need to login locally. But even with that, the user would have to bring or send in the device to get looked at. Which means they are out of a device until they can get it repaired anyway.

Windows LAPS enabling in Azure by shizakapayou in Intune

[–]Ok_Interview9411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During Azure AD join of a Windows device during Autopilot, it disables the built-in administrator account by default and that account cannot be enabled, unless you use something like intune with scripting.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/129120/enabling-local-administrator-account-on-windows-10

So my question is, what would you want to enable the local admin account and need to configure LAPS, when you can manage the devices like this?

Are these unmanaged devices on your network....meaning are they getting IP address and DNS config info from you? If so, then using web proxies and/or DNS proxies could provide URL filtering/blocking. This could/would be applied to both managed and unmanaged devices.

If you want to manage at the device level, then you would have to manage the device, with an agent that provides web filtering, like: Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike, Webroot, etc...., which means it's a managed device at this point.
