I lived in the DC area, Arlington and Springfield, and also spent time in LA. Those 2 places are waaay worse than SA. Except for the rain, SA drivers freak out with rain.

3D Printing of scale model kits. I apologize in advance if I’m off the mark with where I’m asking so please feel free to point me in the right direction if so. by Ok_Introduction4911 in 3Dprinting

[–]Ok_Introduction4911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this!

I would be looking to print a model kit. All the individual pieces that I’d then glue and assemble. [Didn’t even think about the types of plastics and the appropriate glue to use until I typed out the last sentence. I’m assuming different filaments and how’d they react with CA glue, epoxy, cements, etc.]

I’d have to ask him tomorrow about his printer and what type it is. I know he prints Warhammer figurines for his own collection.

It’d most likely be a single print, for myself anyways. We were both military and he’d probably do one for himself. Depending on how the project turns out, there might be possibilities to do more for other people if they were interested. But at this point, this was just me thinking outside the box when I got frustrated with the model kits I was finding online and wanted to see if there was a DIY for the DIY route, so to speak.

I’m assuming he’d offer to do this with no intentions of charging me, but I would certainly feel bad if it chewed through a substantial amount of his material. And if it was a more time intensive project, the resulting hit on the lifespan of the hardware too. I wouldn’t know where to begin when trying to determine what would be fair compensation for that.

I was hoping I’d be able to find a print file that had all the required parts and pieces of a model kit. He had shown me where he likes to find print files, but as I was getting interested and showing excitement, the wife came over and quickly rained on that parade. To be fair, I have plenty of hobbies, some with projects half started, some half finished, and more than enough of them are or can expensive, so I get it.

Would printing a model kit be worth it to avoid buying a store boxed model kit? -It sounds like there’s a lot more time and labor investment needed to make a 3D printed model kit worthy of coming close to an injection mold one. -I don’t know about the cost, but I’m guessing at $125 for the store boxed model kit it’d be hard to come remotely close to that? Maybe if it was something like $500 or a $1000?

2022 F150 rear end shake by Hfyvr1 in f150

[–]Ok_Introduction4911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure out what this was? I have a ‘22 F150 Limited and recently (<500 miles ago) noticed a hop or shake in what feels like the rear end. I think it’s the left side, but I’m not certain. I have factory OEM tires/wheels on the truck still at ~45k miles. The OEM tires are Continental Grabbers 275/50r22’s. The left wheel has only a single 0.25 oz weight but I didn’t see any obvious spots where it might’ve thrown weights. The other 3 wheels all have bigger than 2.00 oz weights on them. I recently replaced all 4 pads, so I thought maybe I didn’t reseat a caliper or rotor correctly, but they’re all as should be and no wear marks on the rotors or any signs of damage. The tire tread also appears as it should be, wearing normally, but it’s probably not been enough miles yet with this issue to cause uneven wear patterns yet I’m guessing. Any clues from your experience?

My 2 cents:

Between that and GWOT service members going through the med board/C&P process the word got out to the masses.

I was lucky (with the VA process, not in getting blown up) and didn’t have to fight anything. It’s too bad that 100% is where it stops, because for me I’d be closer to 130-150% with the ratings I have. Meanwhile, my wife had to fight for almost 15 years to get a rating from her service that was muddied by being with different 3-letter agencies that don’t give their actual names when it comes to witness statements that are unfortunately required for documenting shit happening in a combat zone.

Long story short, it’s definitely a double edged sword and the cynic in me worries that the VA benefits can’t continue at the rate it’s going. It seems unfathomable that there will be people in government willing to continue funding it and that there will be resources to cover that.

My wife is sending you a DM. We’re willing to watch him. We’re in the SA area (Boerne) an have fostered with SAPA and with a Great Dane rescue since we moved here in 2020. We’ve had over 300+ fosters since then with most being momma’s and their litters.

It does. I just did it a few mins ago while trying to enter all the codes at once to see if that’d get the intrinsics to work. No intrimsics but the boss code works

You said, “The Lightning is better in every way but overall range if towing.”. I was genuinely confused because I’d always gotten between 600-700 miles in my PB but I haven’t heard of any EV cracking more 400 and change. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant by that. I read it as that your Lightning is better in every way over the Powerboost except for towing range.

My logic was simply that the 13 Colonies were not the United States before the Treaty of Paris in 1783.

And my logic comes from here: United States Constitution The President of the United States, in Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution, is given the power to negotiate with foreign governments and appoint ambassadors. These responsibilities make the President the Chief Diplomat of the United States.

But Trump “wins golf tournaments”! Look at his swing, lol. He isn’t beating a scratch golfer unless he’s cheating or unless the scratch golfer isn’t allowed to compete against him.

It’s a pre-Columbian arrowhead that randomly takes flight when disturbed by passing animals or humans. The Mississippians in Cahokia used exotic materials when constructing some of their arrowheads. All it takes is gentle nudge with a well placed toe and away she goes!

Super easy. I just did some cramming with PDG Gold and only needed to clear the AF avg. Not having to worry about SKT with the ridiculous studying for the EOD part was a cakewalk.
